The 160 and 200 models show as "120 / 240 optional" on the website. Does this mean the machine can be switched back and forth to match the local power source? Or that a 120v machine is available, and a separate 240v machine is available?
I searched available threads, didn't see any similar info, thought it might serve the community better as a thread rather than a PM.

It means that the 120/240 V units are options, and not the standard, and were special order. But we should have them as standard equipment soon.
The 120/240 combination is very appealing- I was looking locally at a Millermatic 135, which was offered "either or" as a 115v model and a 230v model. The IMIG 200 240v compares very favorably to the Miller 135 230v: ability to weld on thicker metal, and duty cycle.
Dave, the Millermatic 135, shouldn't even come close to the specs of the 200, unless I am not remembering right. We do have plans for a 140 mig that will be 115V only. And it WILL perform on 110V at a better duty cycle than any US 115V machine.
A 140 mig from Everlast is something both myself and a good friend of mine would definitely be interested in. I'm also sure the price would be more than competitive. Any idea when this could be available?Quote:

Not sure about the U.S but we have the 110v IMIG 140 ( 35% @ 135 amps ) here in Canada.
It is a big hit with a lot of Body shops in the area.
Our Sales rep for this unit demos it using .023 Aluminum wire feding from the machine through the Regular mig gun. He claims it is ideal for repairing Aluminum body panels and hoods.

I don't see it on either website. Around what does it retail for?
Is aluminum MIG through the regular gun unique to Everlast? I'd be interested to know how you've overcome the need for the spoolgun.

That is an option we are looking at. But no, it is not unique. Using a relatively short gun, will present little issues with a little practice.
do yourself a favor and just get the i-mig 200. i've had mine for about a year and prefer it to my buddies millers and lincolns. of course they laughed at me for buying "chinese piece of crap" until they actually used it
I'm interested in Everlasts mig units. Does your 200 work well on sheet-metal? How does it do on thick steel, like 3/8" or 1/2"? Do you have any pictures of your work?Quote:
