Powder Coating Oven

I saw some reference to powder coating in other posts so I thought I would show you mine. Maybe show some one its not that hard to do.
Basically I shortened two 55 Gal drums and joined them as shown. Made an outside cover to hold the insulation. I used two 2300 watt stove top burners and a PID (temp controller) and a solid-state relay for the heating system. These parts are on Ebay at a good price. I made mine for horizontal use and I stand it up for storage. It has wheels and rolls like a wheel barrow. I have a trolley to hang the parts on that slides into the oven. The part shown on the trolley is a Bead Roller frame. :D

I do small parts for different projects, like handles and guides. The biggest things have been frames for bead rollers I have made (see attached). I did parts under the hood of my street rod that hold the hood on. On parts that may see heavy use, if done right the shine is great and holds up great.
Basically you spray an electrically charged powder on metal parts and bake them at 350 to 425 degrees for about 10 to 15 minutes. This melts the powder and fuses it to the surface. The oven size dictates how large parts can be to powder coat.
