Attachment 6600Attachment 6599Attachment 6598Attachment 6597I've lost count of how many entries I've made at this point I'm doing it just to give the viewers enjoyment ... here are two v-8 hot rods I made. one is a toe pincher coffin roadster and the other is a v-8 drag bike.
I think I'm going to make this one my official entry in the contest ... the materials used were 16 and 22 Ga sheet metal 3/16" and 1/8" round stock, 1/8"X1/2", 1/8"X1" flat stock, 3/16" square stock, pieces of an old Harley valve, 530 chain links i" angel iron ... that's all I can remember putting into them. They were hand cut, hand shapped, hand rolled and stuck together with Mig .030 wire using 75-25 mix. Both parts took about four hours with total time invested ... eight hours ... these aren't the best art pieces I've ever done but they were my last two and took me the least time of all my hot rod and mc pieces ... I just re read the rules and noticed we are only allowed one entry so ... this is it.Quote:

Yes I do have fun making my not so scale models ... I do mostly bikes but I'm branching out ... I like anything that goes fast. Good luck on finding sponsors for the KOA 2013 race ... I'm always looking for sponsors myself ... if all goes well this will be my 9th annual entrance in the AHDRA North West Nationals ... in 2010 I finished 3rd out of 26 trying for the ladder ... during the semi finals in 2011 during second round of eliminations I thought I had enough lead over Kevin Guant (#6 plate holder) I backed off as to not break out ... as I recall I lost by .0016 ... that's about four inches at the speed I was going ... ouch!Quote:

Thanks Chris ... I make them for fun and I show them at the drag races and motorcycle runs ... if someone wants to buy them I sell them based on the amount of time they take me to make ... so I get pretty good money for them.Quote:

You mean the coffin roadster? I normally charge $20 per hour shop time and I spent about seven hours and there's about $25 or so in materials (steel, wire, gas and electricity) so the least I could let that one go for is ... oh ... $150 ... plus shipping. I know it's totally frivolous and a little crude but that's my art. Remember everything I do is with one eye ... try cutting, shaping and welding with an eye closed sometime ... it aint easy ... But first off it was "some people say I have no sense". This does not mean we know for a fact he has no sense. And his art is cool. He runs down the track on two wheels, and can still type on the forum here. Sounds like he is having fun and OK by me.
But all the other items seem to be fact :D, not sure he is safe to race against in the left lane.
On the sight. He probably has 100% in one eye. I have about 50% in each of mine. It would be nice if I could close one eye and everything be 100% clear in one.
Having common sense trumps any of the other senses. I'd much rather have someone with common sense working in the shop than someone with perfect sight, hearing, and smell and NO common sense. Someone without common sense is just plain dangerous! ;)
A lot of people who race me find out despite my short comings ... I win a lot ... I generally only get to do one nationals a year ... the closest one AHDRA NW Nat. last year I won the first round and lost second round by .0016 sec year before that took home the semi finals purse finishing 3rd out of 24 riders going for the ladder year before that took home the 1/4 finals purse finishing 5th out of 36 racers going for the ladder ... generally I do win more than I loose. Like I said some people say I have no sense but I did graduate from collage with a 3.38 GPA ... and knock on wood ... started riding in the 60's and racing soon after and I'm still doing it so I must have something going on ... lmao.
