Greatings from Alaska! Looks like I an once again the FNG.

Well, as you may have guessed I am up in Alaksa, near Ray's neck of the woods. Actually - he is the reason I am now an Everlast Believer. Purchased a PowerPlasma 60 from him about a year ago and have cut darn near anything I could find to cut with it. Works awesome and I could not be happier. I have been welding using SMAW and GMAW on and off for about twenty years although only within the last few years went to the local university and achieved a "certified" certificate. I quess all the OJT and screw ups over the years combined with self teaching by actually doing and more recenlty the internet was good experience after all. The only bennifit I can see with having the certificate is I am picking up more jobs locally. People seem to feel more comfortable with hiring me now even though I do not think I weld any better than I did before I took the course. No, ther is another bennifit, when my buddies who also have decades of welding experience under thier belt come over or show me thier new high speed projects I can say "well if a certified welder would have made this......." and that is always a way to generate a livley discussion with them. But working out of my garage on the weekends or in the evening makes me some money to buy tools - and beer - and build crap. So, I thought I need a TIG. I am currently back at the univeristy taking thier GTAW course as I had no prior experince with TIG. I have also been talking to Ray again, and he tells me my new PowerTig 250EX, Powercool W300, and cart and waiting at his shop ready for pick up as soon as he gets back into town. It is kind of nice having Ray so close to do face to face business with. Not to mention most of my other equipment is red, but the garage is slowly being taken over by green due to the way I have been treated since first hearing about Everlast. Nice that you are able to make some money with something you like to do. That 250EX will be an excellent addition to your tools.

With such an incredible opportunity to be close to a company representative, I don't blame you for being overcome with green. Actually, even if Ray wasn't so close to you, I'm not sure the service would degrade much.

Good luck on the moose shootin'. I don't believe I have sampled one of those yet, are they as tasty as elk?

Welcome to the forum. Always wanted to visit Alaska ... and shoot a moose ... never tasted it before. Would like to pull in some some native salmon too, probably will never get the chance. We have good fishing and hunting here in Oregon although I rarely have the time for it.
