My torch is leaking because the clamp came off. It looks like it was never on there very well. When I removed the handle the clamp was just barely on the end of the hose. Where can I find new clamps and the tool to crimp them?

I would think you could just push it back up and wrap a sm piece of SS Tie-Wire (meant for securing drilled bolt heads) and twist & fold it down. It's not like there's all that much pressure there...
I tried pushing it back on. No luck. I also tried making 4 ties with small gauge piano wire. That leaks as well. I can't get it tight enough. The tie-wire would probably work better, I just don't have any on hand.Quote:

I thought that maybe it was blocked somewhere, so I removed the return line at the Coolmate 3 cooler. I got good flow there. I checked the cooler filter, that is fine. The coolmate has a flow indicator, which is spinning as it should. I suppose it could be blocked inside the coolmate, but I don't think so. The flow indicator would not move if that were the case. I have a #18 torch as well. It works fine. I just don't like using it 'cause its like wrestling a python.

I get those style clamps at a local industrial hardware store. McMaster Carr has them as well. Also some auto parts stores have them as they are often used for smog stuff, to be semi tamper resistant. I would think a corbin clamp of the right size might do the job better, and be easier to find.
Weldcraft used small wire clamps that you twisted like Blaster mentioned. Just be sure you make two passes around the hose before twisting the ends, so there is even pressure all the way around. As I recall, the Weldcraft wire was even smaller than typical .030" safety wire.
There is also a special kind of heat shrink tube, used to clamp hoses. (Always find new stuff looking through McMaster Carr catalog)

Those look like the Oetiker clamps I commonly use on my homebrewing gear and a lot of other stuff. They take a special crimper, that's not so special, really, as any pincer tool, like the gentle use of wire or bolt cutters will do at the one-sided ear to get the clamping action. They're measured in millimeters at the uncrimped ID and can be bought on Amazon in packs of as little 10, for about $5.
Otherwise, in the meanwhile, I'd just carefully put a light film of some 3M-style adhesive on the pipe, then slide the hose back on and put a couple of small zip ties around it (or wire ties, like Rambozo mentions) till I got the more fitting clamps.

Thanks Mark and everyone else the pointed me in the right direction. I've ordered the clamps and crimper from Amazon. I tried the local autoparts store, but they had nothing. Grainger and Fastinal are next door to each other here. I asked them, but they said they did not have them. I should have checked the web site first. They do have them, but only in bags of 100 for $60. I needed the crimper too, so Amazon it was. I tried zip ties, but those broke before I could get them tight enough. Just for curiosity, I tried a worm-gear hose clamp. That worked, but of course is too large to the handle. Still, I had to really crank down on it to stop the flow.Quote:

Sounds like you came up with a good solution. I usually grab some 031 stainless safety wire wrap it around once and twist it.
Yes it's unorthodox, works good and loves me long time!
