    Default Yet another new guy.

Hello all my name's David Reid from the Blue Mountains west of Sydney Australia. I've built two dune buggies, well finished one and still going on the other but I'm having a go. I taught myself to weld aluminum, now I'm having a bigger shed built so I can fit all my stuff in I'll try and post some pics of both buggies..

    Welcome Reidy,

Feel free to post up the projects. Also, we have a contest going on. Might want to check it out, under the Announcements section.

EDIT: Opps, just saw a couple of your buggy shots in the gallery. Off to check them out.

Thanks for the welcome. What did you think of my pics? Someone has rated it a 4. That was a while ago and wasn't too sure what I was doing, it is air tight though.

    Hey David,

It looks good. Looks like fun too.

I was looking for a thread for your pics, then saw them in the gallery. We have threads, the gallery and personal albums on the forum. But since it was in the the gallery it was at the top I saw the them there. Nice buggy. My son hit me up last night (15 years old) want to build a mud racing truck. I bought an old 1988 RAM 100 a couple months ago, so that is the victim. Seem we all need to go fast in the sand or mud these days.

Hey Mike, I gotta laugh about the Father Son project thing sorry, cause that's what mine were, till he discovered Girls then it was like project what project? So all the best on that front mate.. But still sounds like fun. I've just got to finish off my shed and get all my stuff in there, what a hassel. Oh and thanks for the complement, I can't wait to get it finished now.

    David,

I think he will always have the motor bug. At his age he has lifted more golf cart than a custom golf cart shop. hahaha.. But now he is moving to bigger things with the license due in a couple months. Sports and racing so far have kept him home, that license may change that, you might be spot on.

Yeah Sorry to say it Mike but as soon as he gets a better offer he'll be off. But it is human nature I guess, I couldn't wait to get out of home as a kid. But honestly it's over all too soon honestly, cause it seems like just yesterday he was coming to me with problems at school, now I hardly hear from him, unless he's outa money.. I hope for both your sake it doesn't happen that way, and hey it probably wont I just think my Son has too much of his Mother in him.

My son(s) have a LOT of their mother in them. And they're all still at home. Oldest is 21. But I like seeing them. Oldest is in College, works and has the girlfriend, so I do not see him a lot. So I am lucky there, my folks were not, as I seem to be like you
