Thread: CT520 broke down

  1. Default CT520 broke down

Picked up this unit new off of ebay back in July of 2008. Have used it off and on, mostly for the plasma and tig. Was working on a log splitter for my dad the other night cutting a piece of 1/4" plate when my arc suddenly stopped and I noticed a puff of smoke coming from the side.

    Attachment 1296

I pulled the cover and found what looks to be a blown fuse. Problem is it looks like it melted part of the board too. Going to attach some pictures for conformation. Not sure if it can be repaired, if it is still under warranty or if I can get the parts. Any conformation/insight would be appreciated.

You need to call ext 202. Your unit should still be under warranty... You'll need to send it in.

Well what started out as a good experience is starting to turn sour. Everlast has had my machine for almost a month now. Durring that time I have yet to get any acknowledgement of reciept of the machine or any update as to what is wrong with it or a time frame for return. I have called 3 times over the last week, the first call returned with we will find out what is going on, only to not get a call. The next two messages have had no reply. Maybe someone will read this and can help.
