No, the green bucks contest isn't contingent upon delivery time. The "green bucks" will be good until the end of the year, allowing the winner time to purchase the unit of his/her choice and deliberate or wait on new products if the case be. Yota, we have a fully equipped and functional repair center that can fix any of our products...They also have received additional air shipments of parts.

Right now, things have been delayed only 10-12 days more than what I have told people to expect. Its no more delay than usual right now. I am not sure how the ship will travel...and can't even begin to track it, but I am sure they are aware of any issues they need to deal with on the way over.

I was only referring to the delivery of new units, as the Tsunami was listed as the issue for the shipping delay.

No, we didn't list it as a cause, only as a possibility that we could forsee in additional delay.

Not trying to argue, but here is the message I got. It does not say anything about additional delays, or future delays, just this delay.

    Dear Customer,

Thank you very much for patiently waiting for your purchase.
We have received and update from the customs broker and the units are going to be in Oakland port on April 10th.
Possible due to the Tsunami a lot of ships were rerouted and that’s what caused the delay. If you would like to know more details about this give us a call at 650-588-8588 ex 202. Due to this we would like to offer 30% off on all the accessories and 20% on all the water coolers on all the new orders. We apologize and at this point there is nothing we can do to speed this process up we hope you can understand.

It one of several possible causes.

So you guys do not own your own boat? you guys sell welders, yet cannot predict the weather nor international trade routes? I am aghast! How do you dare to use the same shipping arangements as 90% of the rest of the world? We're welders and expect that there are no delays on anything ever! We have never unexpectedly ran out of argon, used our last tungsten, nor ever even had a dead battery in our car when it was our turn to pick up the kids from soccer practice. A time estimate is not an estimate, it is an exact, to the minute science. THAT'S what the word estimate means.

Common guys...it's shipping and manufacturing. Things happen. Things have happened to you, now multiply it by language barrier and incoming/outgoing supplies. One 'Little Suzy' is out sick for a day, and that's a day things don't get done, somewhere in the 75 or so steps this all takes. Some of you treat this like it was the inquisition.
I'll vouch for these guys, they are not witches. Quit trying to drown them.

I have had all the time I need to install my breakers and get my plugs and cords, and buy consumables, but I haven't done it. I haven't built my cooler, though I could and I think of it often. I haven't built my cart even though the dimensions are provided here on the site.
I am out trying to 'find myself'. If I should wander back while I am gone, please tell me to sit quietly and wait for myself to return.

If you browse the forum regularly like they are trying to do with this contest anyhow, 60 posts is not hard to get. I am not far from it and I have skipped over posting quite a few times.

so now the date of 4/10 that we were told last week has slipped to 4/23...this just keeps getting worse and worse

as for the post count I was looking forward to posting up more questions about using my pt250 rather then asking when is it going to show up - but its dragged out enough the I got my post count up to 75 they are just more in the negitive side since I was told the welder would be in in 3 weeks back on 2/22 and here is 3/30 and it sound like they wont be in now until 4/23

I believe the reference to 4/23 was with respect to the next batch of welders being produced, nothing to do with the current orders or shipment.

    Cool

Well, I did'nt think I was complaining at all, ordinarily there would be a large amount of estrogen involved for so much to have been read into my simple words. I was making a statement of fact, nothing more. I understand the variables quite well. When I placed my order I was told it would likely be "early" meaning before the end of March, that faded to end of March, then became April 10th. I never complained at all, in fact I thought the discount offered to those of us with orders pending was quite gracious, and appreciated. I cancled my order with Longevity on a machine they had in stock to wait for this one, so I knew I was in for a delay. I also read a piece in a trade magazine that mentioned large scale delays on Chinese goods due to extended New Years celibrations back in February causing a ripple effect. Who knows. I'd love to hear that it was a delay caused by additional testing related to new quality standards. On a more nefarious note, I was hoping someone who was waiting for a PP256 would pull out and cancel their order so I could upgrade my PP205 order.

The initial order was delayed by the new year's. In fact, it was originally scheduled to be completed before the new years, but it could not happen.
I believe you will be happy with the NEW 205, even more so than the 256. Better torch, selection...improved functions.

I thought these welders were made in China. Is that incorrect? Or is there a concern that components are supplied by Japan.

A little thing known as radioactive fallout is the issue, trying to avoid being close downwind of Japan, ships have apparently been rerouting.

The next Manufacturing Date for Welders is """ ABOUT """ the 23 April . I will arrive on the Evening of the 22nd ( Friday Night ) but this does not neccesarily mean the order will start the followng day . From the manufacturing stand point the last order started 4 days later than the schedule that was given us weeks in advance and the finish time was almost a week later than scheduled. And this is just the Canadian and Australian order .
There are a few reasons for this that can be unexpected and not in the control of the Factory. One example was the Machine Torches for the CNC Plasmas . Trafimet Shanghai did not have enough in stock and they had to be sent from Italy to cover our order as it is the Torches did not arrive untill the very last day just before 5 pm . While you may think it is a minor detail it is a concern. As for shipping etc there has been a little delay as my shipment was scheduled to leave on the 14th and it is yet to arrive in Vancouver and may be in by the 1st April.

Now the last order that came from the Factory took forever to get to me due to Avalanches in BC and CN Rail was shut down while the areas affected where cleaned up and assesed for safe transportation .
At this point i can only give rough estimates for times and then i tend to be conservative in my estimation while privately hoping the normal schedule will still be correct.
