Default Power Ultra Ordered and on it's way with DHL

O.K I took the plunge and ordered the Power Ultra 205.

I will try and take some pictures as to how it arrived and will post them If it's not too difficult.

I will be checking the tracking number constantly.

I need some power questions answered as I have a 30 amp breaker as of today.

Bought some scrap metal and will be leasing a Argon bottle on monday.

    Take care guys.

    Zaichuk.

Its going to be interesting to see how the shipping damage (or lack of) compares to UPS, as people start using other delivery options. Every time I get something delivered from DHL, it always shows up in a Budget rental van. Never had any damaged goods from them.

The NEW DHL seems to handle things much better with kid gloves. I have had several deliveries straight from the factory and they are first class in their attitude and they don't seem to think it strange while I pull the unit out to inspect while they are there. I met them in another town one time to keep them from coming all the way to my house an hour away, because I was in that town anyway, and we met at a gas station. They waited AND helped me to actually uncrate a couple of welders and check them for damage... Very polite and professional...One guy delivered in a PT cruiser...But they deliver mostly international shipments now.

If its DHL, then I would say that Zaichuk may be in Oz.

    Hello,
Yes I have a tracking number from DHL.
I had spoken with Duncan and I was working night shifts so the order was placed while I had some spare time at work.
So the order was placed early in the morning and sent the same day.
I am on days off all week so I can be home to receive the welder.
And yes I will be a little concerned about the shape that the welder when it gets here.

Even our Canada Post parcel delivery is mostly contracted out.
Each time I had a parcel it was a different driver.

My saving grace is that the weather is warm and spring is here.
So the driver won't be in such a hurry to unload and get going on their route..

Well DHL shows it departed Brampton on April 2 0049 hrs.
    Nothing updated since then.

    Regards,
    Zaichuk.

You will have to consult Canadian warranty statement. It is not the same as the US.

    Thanks for the information.

I just read the Canadian policy.
30 days start from date of shipping not from date of receiving the unit. (So I lose about 5 days).
I have 48 hours from time of receiving unit to plugging it in and checking all functions.
I have to inspect the welder for any damage during shipping with the delivery driver present.

So I hope to get this unit before I go back to work and put it thru it's paces.
So monday it's argon bottle lease time.

    Regards,
    Zaichuk.

    Default Power Ultra 205 Arrived.

Well the Welder arrived via DHL.
I took pictures of what kind of shape the box came in.
Duncan did a good job of Bubble wrapping the exterior.
I was a bit worried when I saw the crease mark in the edge of the cardboard.
When I opened the box it was creased at the side where the hoses were so no damage to the welder.
Unpacked it and used the Plasma torch on some 1/4" plate and it cut very wel.
First time I used a plasma torch now I am hooked.
I then used the stick welder and burnt about 3 rods.
I am impressed with the welder so far.
Still need some argon and check the rest of it out.
    So far it is working as I hoped it would.Attachment 1517Attachment 1518Attachment 1519Attachment 1520Attachment 1521Attachment 1522Attachment 1523
