Thread: Another minnesota guy says Hello!

  1. Default Another minnesota guy says Hello!

I have been looking for a new wirefeed to replace my esab migmaster, and i came across this website. saw the contest and decided to enter. that means being part of this forum. no problem! I'm 37 years old, and currently drive a truck for a living. I used to work with my dad operating heavy equipment for new housing, but since the bubble burst, just doing what i can to get by. I do a lot of fabrication projects, and my friends and family consider me the go-to guy for all of their welding and torch-related needs. by what ive seen so far, this looks like a pretty good site, thanks for having me!

Mike, welcome aboard from another Mike.

We have all kinds here, some new and talented, some old and very talented. Sure you will have plenty to add as well. Post up pictures of projects when you get time, old or new. Everyone likes to look.

Do you see any turn in the housing development in your area (normally mean the local rich guys that are left are spending)? Where I am I see new developments starting up a little. So hoping we are close to the bottom. Where are you located? That is part of the contest rules to add that in the profile.

Have fun and post any questions you might have about our products (or call).

Hey Mike! Welcome! Would you happen to be about 6 feet tall with a shorter, older, but much better looking, smarter, more talented, waay cooler brother named Chris?

  7. Default Yes, but I call him something else.

First, both me and pinhead live in the northeast suburbs of minneapolis, and housing is still at a standstill. I'm driving truck for about 40% of what I made 5 years ago. My dad decided to pull the plug and retire just in the nick of time (for him) and there wasn't enough action for me to take over and make a go of it. I see what's going on on my routes and there's maybe a house here and there, but no new developments to speak of. Second Hooda is Chris, and from this moment on, I hereby call a truce, and promise not to call him pinhead or any other names on this forum. But I also won't say that he's really a great older brother (heavy on the OOOOLD), and sometimes too good for his own good, because he might get a bigger head than he already has

Well, I hope things pick up for sure. Just heard on the new trucking is about to take a turn, but now we have gas price issues to deal with. At least your Dad made it out in time.
