Thread: Delivery Date for Early april order

I bought my cord today. 50 foot, lighted ends, a three wire 8 gauge, not the 3x6guage 1x8 that I wanted, but it was there, it was done, and it was $138. I need to build a dongle for the 4 slot plug on my wall to adapt. I'm going to just put the 50footer directly on to the unit and use the cut end for part of my dongle.

Checked on a tank today, a couple of options.
I buy the tank, keep the receipt, and they buy it back when I'm done....
I have a 240cf oxygen tank I got at auction for $15 and they will swap it for an argon tank same or smaller straight across. They do their own visuals and hydros so it's not a problem.

Compressor and line is ready to go, I screwed around and haven't built/bought a cooler yet. I have a dozen or so pumps laying around I guess I'll do that tomorrow.
My first weld since 1972 [highschool freshman stick weld class] is eminent. I mistakenly bought stainless rod, I'll get the aluminum tomorrow.
I am out trying to 'find myself'. If I should wander back while I am gone, please tell me to sit quietly and wait for myself to return.

LOTS of scuba and vintage scuba equipment [I'm Always willing to trade or buy the stuff you think is too old to use]
Smithy XLT Mill/lathe [It was easier to learn than I thought, I'm no pro, but I can make a bearing hanger]

my pp256 is on the UPS truck, in my town, and out for delivery as of 6 am Pacific time.
I still need to build my dongle adapter for the cord.
Usually 4pm at the earliest, I'll have to start on my kennedy roller box conversion to a welding cart. Everlast may get a coat of paint in either Craftsman mottled silver or Kennedy krinkle brown.

Delivered! Box in good shape, argon meter popped through a piece of cardboard on an inside box, a small small hole on the outside big box, all seems well. Unit came with a pigtail I'll have to remove, and it still has the 20amp plug you might not probably should use, nice foam packing, I guess it has my upgraded torch in it already. I have a little 30cf argon tank I'll play with as soon as I get a few projects out of the garage.

Three wires out, maybe 6 feet, black, green, white. It also came with a 20amp three prong male plug I will not be using.
Also came with an air pressure regulator/filter.

I'm trying to complete a to-do list so I can play with the welder. Last thing is to mount an awning on the 4x4, and I'm dicking around....

AND; someone used my plasma cutter! I'm betting they cut the Queen Mary in half or something using MY unit!

I'm kidding...everyone remember; they test these units, you're going to see a burn or smudge or something.
My owners manual was stamped, saying it was tested on March 12th.

My favorite part of the manual is the title of #IV.

Did you DOWNLOAD your manual from the WEBSITE?
Please do so if you haven't.

  8. Default

Downloaded it weeks ago, before I even bought the unit. Read it few times, will re-read before I mess with anything. I once had a new computer in the box for three weeks while I read the manuals. I am in no hurry other than to ascertain everything works.

Mine arrived today burned a few rods of 6013, I'll have to wait on the tig portion as I can't afford to buy a bottle till the beginning of May. Would rather tig even Mild steel as I don't end up with spatter holes and burns on the top of my legs and I just get overheated too easy with a leather apron on over my legs whilst sitting in my wheelchair. All I can say is it's a very nice machine so far.

Arrived with the expected box dmg from UPS, couple of torn corners and to dings on the right side of the case, cosmetic so no worries.

Big thanks to the Everlast team

I hafta say- I'm having a great time watching this thread.

Please understand I mean this in the best possible way: I'm sure each one of you guys is somebody I'd like to have as a neighbor. Doing your job, keeping your commitments, being a man, a husband, a father, a friend, an engaged citizen of your community or state or country, or all of those things and more.

And yet- in 13 pages and 130 or so posts, it's like kids who can't wait for Christmas! Ordering equipment, un-ordering equipment, will it go to the right address, will I be home to get it, getting buyer's remorse, getting over buyer's remorse, cursing UPS, cursing Everlast, praising Everlast. UPS deserves some cursing- it's disturbing to hear about damaged boxes. I hope the machines arrived intact.

Congrats on the new machines, you guys- some of us are watching from the sidelines enjoying your new machines with you. Please post pics of your welds, the setting up process, anything. And thanks to the folks at Everlast- it's been a busy few weeks, that's for sure.

I had a long conversation with a customer this morning that expressed the same feelings almost word for word. Funny.

Just got a text from my wife. Got a 200DX sitting on my back porch with no box damage. I told her to look it over really well adn she reported that there was a tear in the outer layer of cardboard on the bottom (from sliding it over something) that didn't even go through the whole layer of the bottom flap. I guess her inspection was pretty through :-)

mime showed up in about the same condition, torn but not all the way trough. I was a bit worried with every thing I had read, but the packing did its job and kept the machine intact and HF worked just fine out of the box.

Whoo hoo! Sportbike, now you can change your signature: it still says "no welders"!

Looks like the bottom of the bx was a bit more damaged than first thought (wife didn't lift it up to check) The interior box was open, and the consumables packet was spread all over the box, but I think all is accounted for (not really sure what all is supposed to be int there).

Welder and all components look fine, all knobs are smooth, etc. Hope to try it out later, if the argon shows up from my neighbor.

Nameplate is only showing 30.8 peak amps at 240V (which I do have 240V under load). May not need to upgrade the 30 amp circuit afterall...

  20. Default OMG My PP 205 is here and It is Beautiful

Been waiting at the front door for 4 weeks for the brown man to drop my big box at the door step. The box was in good shape and everything looked perfect.

I got it hooked up tonight and tried all 4 processes and this thing ROCKS! Amazingly smooth arcs, HF, and a nasty evil plasma stream. AC works smooth on aluminum and DC is awesome on the few pieces I tried. I even burned a stick for the first time in 15 years and I don't remember it being this easy with Dad's old Miller Thunderbolt.

The selling point that pushed me over was the updated controls. It has all the functions of a PP256 now with a little less power.

Looks like I have a lot of practicing to do as I'm just a hobbyist with a mig until yesterday.
    Today I'm Superman!

Thanks Alex and Katya for the help and support.
and thanks Mark and Mike for all the questions you have answered for me on this forum without me even asking.

    Keep Up The Great Work!
