    Default Generator Cart

I have been saving up for a generator to run my 200dx, but storms in Memphis, Tuesday and Wednesday took out our power. I had a super coupon for a 3,000watt 3,500max generator, and I needed something to run our refrigerator to keep food from spoiling. It did not have wheels and is quite bulky and heavy to lug around.

Picked up a 4x6 band saw with a coupon, these things are absolutely handy.

Northern Tool drill press, I purchased some M2 taper shank drill bits, I will never go back to using regular drill bits if I can help it!

Finished, I did trim off the excess rod sticking out of the wheel.

Very nice workmanship. For me the handle would be an issue, only because I am over six feet and my legs would get bashed up on the cart. I would have gone with a two handle system. Either a folding up system or tubing inside of tubing. I am not critiquing your work just discussing design considerations or options. One day I am going to build the same thing twice!

I cut the handle up from the HF generator wheel kit. I am over 6' but my wife is 5' so I had to build it where she can move it in an emergency. I am more than likely going to add heavy duty swivel casters to the front.

Generators can have a habit of moving around when running. I would definitely recommend locking casters.
