Thread: Just got the 256

  1. Default Just got the 256

Just got my 256 a few days ago the box had a few scuffs on it but nothing to serious everything was there the machine and the contents were flawless. And i have to say one thing ive been in this field for about 8 years and i think the green machines are by far the best looking miller is in second. Hf frequency worked great all the way down to like 7 amps i will have to test it out fully in a couple of days but so far so good.

One more thing and im not affiliated with any shipping company and im not making any excuses for them. Im 6'1 230 and exercise regularly and let me tell you that box was heavy and big so to say the least the shpping companys people have their work cut out for them when their delivering something like this.

JUST WANT TO SAY THANX TO EVERYONE AT EVERLAST FOR A GRAT PRODUCT.
OH AND BETTER LATE THAN NEVER RIGHT?

I agree the box is big and somewhat heavy but I am 5'11" and 150-160lbs and had no problem carrying the box across my yard and putting it in the trunk of my car. Then I carried it in the shop no problem.. The shipping company should have a cart to put these on. Mine came undamaged although 2 of the 3 straps were not supporting the box at all and the tape was cut but I assume that was before it shipped. The box also had a hole in the side and the box with the torch's and such was half way destroyed but the unit did not even have a scratch on it. I have had some issues with the purchase but in the end Mark and Alex have shown me they really do care for their customers and I can actually say I really appreciate what the two of them have done for me. I also got a deal I did not expect from Alex and could not be happier with the unit. I would recommend anyone to Everlast if they have the time to wait for the orders.

    Thanks for the comments.

Shipping delays happened a few times a year, bad weather, holidays, changes to the panels, etc.

But there is not always a wait time. And if there is it will be the 250EX and 256 as the weldingtipsandtricks videos tend to make people believe they need "that" model unit so they sell out faster. The 225LX is a great TIG unit. I have one myself. It is the same size and weight, so no help in that area.

Well just got done with the machine yesterday. Had about 5 Hours on it started with stick 3/32 6011 and 1/8 7018 run it about 130 amps for some uphill 7018 stringers and then did a weave over that the machine performed flawlessly. Then did the plsma cutter worked great got a good arc every time i pulled the trigger i think i cut like 3/4 . Then thE tig came started with dc for about hour then went to ac made some godd looking beads using the foot pedal the hf zapped every time. I have to say that stick is my favorite its just when i struck the first arc and it was welding like a dream i couldnt help but smile . I still have to mess with the 2t and 4t needless to say im very happy with my machine all i need now is a cooler hopefully I can get a good discount on one through everlast
