Howdy Folks,

My name is Don Depew and I am at present, an unemployed Airline Pilot that works as an Aviation Consultant.

I got interested in welding from my father. He designed high flying, fast moving, airplanes at Lockheed. He also designed race cars for his faternity brothers, in addition to doing mechanical work on these race cars. The cars he designed were sports cars and a Can-Am car back in the sixties.

My avatar is my brother who is racing the Class 11 car that is pictured. He designed the chassis and welded it together with a Miller model 35 mig welder. He races with the M.O.R.E. folks out in Barstow. I am the crew chief for him.

As you can tell, this runs in the family. As kids we designed and built BMX bike frames together along with anything else that our oxy/acetelyne could be used for. The parts for my brother's race car are getting Tigged more and more.

I purchased a 250EX in November 2010 and also own a Big Blue Mig welder. I built my own carts and water cooler for the EX. I also hooked up a WP-20 flex head to the EX. The OEM torch is OK, but King Kong can handle it better. Tig welding is much like gas welding and I have more control over the weld than MIG welding.

Best Regards
Don Depew
