Thread: some higher amp stick with PU 205

Default some higher amp stick with PU 205

I've got an onsite job for the little PU205 portable multifunction. This will involve 60-80 hours of fabbing structural steel for an unusual style of home a Customer is building.
The welding will be all stick welding and there will be some plasma cutting as well.

I thought I would use the little Everlast instead of my Miller Onan beast. This way I don't have to spend $10 per hour just on gasoline, plus it's quiet.

But how does it handle 1/8" 7018 on 1/4" steel?

Have a look, so far I like it better than the Miller for this.
This was done at 140 amps, so lots of juice left.

Sounds like that welder is gonna pay for itself on this one job, saving the gas money is a sure start, as usual you show a nice bead.

Can't see the bottom, but don't think I need to. Looks good. Make sure you have good air flow around the unit. The PT and PP series are more commercial grade, but you should be OK.

Using 205 and stick, you are saving gas in two ways I have people, friend of a friend, they get stick welds. Plus no worry about fans or wind.
And like Geezer said, nothing like paying for the unit on a job right away. Good work.
