I plugged in my SC 50P this morning. Power switch on the back was off. There was a pop at the plug / outlet and the breaker (60A) tripped. I opened the plug and outlet to see if there were any stray wires but all was good. I reset the breaker and turned on the power at the back of the SC 50P and all seems normal. I cut the bottom off of an old fire damaged open oxygen cylinder and it did a fantastic job. When I powered it down the display stayed on. It even stayed on a few seconds after I unplugged it from the outlet. I plugged it back in and the display stayed off until I turned on the power switch on the back but then it stayed on again after the power switch was turned off. Is the display staying on with the power switch off normal? I did not note the status of it at my initial testing.
Edit, I just spoke with Ray and he is taking care of me.
Edit, 19 May, 2011. SC 50P on it way back. Used the 30 day Satisfaction guarantee and upgraded to a PowerUltra 205P which is a much nicer IGBT plasma plus DC Pulse Tig and Stick (and CNC port). Not a whole lot of money more either.
