66 Mustang disc brakes
I put a set of disc brakes on the front of a 66 mustang this weekend, and let me tell you, the Willwood kits are the way to go. I have done a number of these and usually they don't include some parts (and they are always the odball hard to find stuff, no Kaleco.com doesn't even have them!)
The will wood kit had EVERYTHING that was required (though I didn't use some of it.)
This is the old backing plate for the front drum brakes, although adequite they just aren't safe IMO. especially if your upgrading the motor and handling.
The owner is keeping the 240 Cu. in. I6 for gas mileage.... for now(If I know this guy a 351 Cleveland, that I have seen in the back of his shop, will be in here before long.)
Hubs with races installed
The new spindles, with the caliper brackets installed
And finally rotors, calipers and pads.
I didn't get any pictures of the hardest part.... I HATE trying to form brake lines in a 2x6 in. spot under the hood hinges... GRR! so I got frustrated and put the camera away... I did finally get it done, looks good, works great. Maybe I'll snap some pics later(when I'm stuffing that cleveland in for him...LOL)
I'd like to think I'm the guy they are talkin about when they say, "he could F%^& up a cannon ball in a plowed field."
