I have a Millermatic 211 which I think is a great home hobby welder since it is dual voltage. The negative side is that it is heavy and would be hard to lug around on a job site. My question is about weight and efficiency. I ran my miller off my generator to try it out, but I'm not sure it's efficient enough to get run at full power from a generator. My generator is 7,000 watts. Could I get a larger Everlast Mig welder that is more efficient than my miller? How much do the Everlast mig welder weigh? I'm not wanting to go down in power, I'm curious if I can get something that weigh's less and something that would be more efficient to run off my generator.
