Saw a video of something like this last year and after skinning a few last year I can really see this being useful.

I was cleaning up the garage and came across a few scrap peices of 1" 1/16 wall steel tube. I had picked up a few pairs of vise grips at HF, so I pretty much had everything I needed. A chop saw blade in a miter saw while it works takes forever to cut...it went pretty well and even welding the rebar to the vice grips was pretty easy. I just had er70s6 1/16 so that is the filler I used and it seemed to bond ok. I had to do some grinding on the rebar to get a good fit up, but that was the only part that took some time.

Still not sure how I am going to mount it - to the wall/post or a base and will use weight to keep it down

Ok got a plan for the mount - there is a steel pole in the garage so I am going to weld 2 uprights along the back. Then I can use a tie down strap to attach it to the pole when needed and remove it when it no longer needed.

Well its seems like 100 degrees out and humidty of about 100% so I kind of rushed this to wrap it up, and didnt clean up the upright too well and tiging with rust didnt go so well. Pretty sure its good enough for its intend use...

Guessing stick might have been a better option - but what stick should I use for rusty painted 1/16 and 1/18 wall steel tube?

My Airgas catalog suggest E6010 (DCEP) for dirty, rusty, greasy or painted steel - especially in vertical or overhead applications. Probably want a 3/32" rod diameter (good from 35 amps to 100 amps top).

If I could trap in the city...I could make a ton of $$$. I access to a few farms, and there is public access to some of the rivers south west of here.
