I find it incredibly helpful on forums with more than a handful of sub-forums, otherwise I miss things, or spend 10 minutes checking the forums and not seeing anything new.

I know you guys have your hands full, though, so if you can't, oh well. no big deal.

why not just use the new post - it juat shows you everything that is new

I'll be damned... 'today's posts' is that function. I didn't even notice it up there and I was LOOKING for it.

Before I registered, "Today's posts" is what was up there. Since I registered and am logged in, it changed to "New Posts", which shows new posts since my last visit. Interesting that you see "today's posts".

Depending upon your security level, if your cookies aren't saved and you are signed out, you will see today's posts. If you sign in you will see "new posts".

I also notice when you're signed out the system time is GMT, and when you're signed in the system time is GMT-4. And when you're signed in, the latest post in a thread appears first.
