Default PT 250 EX stuck at 478 Amps!!!

......So I was welding today on AC, finished that part and switched to DC to do another and as soon as I struck the arc, (using the pedal), to tac a part, it blows through.
When I looked at the control panel, the ampreage display read 478. The amperage control dial did not change the number indicated. I tried several other different settings and nothing worked.
Next thing I tried was shutting it down and letting it sit for a few minutes hoping something would reset........same result.

Does anyone have any guesses as what my problem could be?

    Thanks,

    Ken
