Default Project #6 from Jason: Euro Radiator Support Repair.

So I had purchased this euro rad support used from someone and it happen to be broke during shipment from UPS.. My claim with UPS was denied as they always do. I have only got one thing taken care of which they lost and to get that claim approved I had to argue and make a hassle out of it as they denied it first. Anyways since UPS was not going to do anything about it, I went to see a friend who had a plastic welder.

    Here is the broken support

When I got to his shop, he could not find his plastic welder but that did not stop us. A soldering iron was used to V out the cracks and then a hot glue gun was used to fill it in with new plastic/rubber. It worked well as the glue melted in to penetrate the plastic.

Since this is going to be used on my car that is getting a major custom build, I could not accept how it looked. Sanded down the glue.

    Next came some spot putty.

and fixed waiting for paint but that will be awhile as the car is going to take awhile.

Took a couples hours total to fix but part of that was just screwing around which is common when we hang out at the shop

I think the forum needs a new category for plastic welds.
