Mark, yes, that's basically what I was talking about. for even more idiot-resistance, break out the connections into 'steps'. it might seem like overkill and anyone who's able to weld should be able to figure it out, but most people at some point overlook something stupid that causes something not to work. putting them in steps allows the customer to go back through the 'checklist' to make sure everything is set up correctly.
