    Default SeanMurphy265 Project #4 Smoker!

A new smoker I started yesterday, and hope to finish up by the end of the weekend. This one is a vertical smoker with a firebox, and will also use a water pan.

This is what I got accomplished on day 1, and that includes going to Southern Steel and purchasing materials. I hate buying steel, it takes forever.

    Safety first!

I'm going to put some type of heat damper between the firebox and smoker.

Been using my Imig 200 for this project!

Looks like you are using a zipcut disk to notch the angle iron, do that my self, some times I wish I had special notcher for that very job.

Yeah, me too! It takes up too much time. I worked for a machine shop that had a manual angle notcher, they work pretty good, and are much more consistent than myself!

Oh man making those notches like that must be a pain in the ###. You should get a cheap vertical bandsaw from harbor freight and cut the notches with that. It would probably much easier than the angle grinder

Sorry time and gas run out. Good luck on your move. I was going to ask how the balance was can not wait to see the final. that is a brass ball valve? How much did a 2 1/2" valve cost there. Cost a lot here

Very neat. Can not wait to see your door layout. Are you adding a stack to it.

Hey how are you liking your EL mig? I have an EL tig, & am thrilled about it but there are many instances where a mig would be more efficient.

So far I have been very impressed. This is my first inverter style mig welder, and it will put down some nice welds.

Sean an updates on the smoker? I have done about 6 grills and 1 smoker. You got me thinking about doing another one like that. My first one was a tank that will grill horizontal and flip vertical. It is on an engine stand and ugly but never made a bad meal.

I'm kinda in a stand still.... I have all the side plates cut and ready to be fitted up, but I am waiting on Lowes for my insulation to arrive. It was suppose to be at Lowes today, but today means anytime before midnight.....
