When flux core welding does it matter whether or not a push or pull technique is used? I have read that since it uses flux u drag like stick but when using solid wire you push. Is this correct?

depends on what you're doing. You can push or pull either. Go look at jody's site...he has some things on the differences. Pull tends to penetrate a bit deeper. For me, it all depends on the situation. if I'm welding vertical, I'm pushing basically either way unless I'm welding from the topside and pulling the gun towards me. I've been using almost all fluxcore in my suitcase extreme and the thing just flat kicks a$$. the situation will dictate what you are doing

Yeah I read his but his were for solid wire, Ive had sucess with both techniques as well but I have found that 71TGS welds pretty nice but other wire I have used sucks unless the settings are dialed in perfectly which is why I wonder if it has to do with technique
