In my opinion there is no job too small when it comes to welding. Recently a friend reccomended me to someone they knew who was in need of a welder to fix something in regars to a gate, or fence....









long story short, easy money. Not even when I reccomended a completely different approch to this repair, did my client concur. He only wanted me to weld back on what was broken off. Easy money. This repair took a little longer than an hour considering i had to go to a hardware store to p/u a different outlet to rewire my PM256 because the client did not have a 220 outlet.

The customer is always right... even if he's wrong? How different was your solution, and would it have saved him time / trouble / money?

I'm curious to know- how extensive was rewiring the 256? Or did you have to wire up a new plug to match his outlet.

Well the solution I came up with was to cut that flimsy piece of angle off, & replace with thicker piece of sheetmetal(like 3/4") cut , & mounted differently. A simple oval shape, with a cirle cut to one side the same diameter of the pipe its mounted to. Which would give more of a contact point to weld to, thus increasing strength, & decreasing the possibility of a breach... It would have taken a bit longer, & cost more.... BUT ...ppl want what they want.

As far as the wiring, I only had to replace the male 220 om my machine (temporarily), with a differnt 30 amp male plug to match his outlet. And run @ the lowest amps that I could to get good fusion...
