This morning I took an hour out to begin some repair work for a set of wheels I got for free years ago from a friend who runs his own machine shop.
I have decided these will make a good set if I put a little elbow grease into it...
You can see from the above photos that the tapped holes are not centered correctly on this one individual wheel...
The cure I came up with was to add some weld, & then grind off excess, then polish, & or sandblast ...
I didn't take the time to get that stack of nickels look because all that excess meat will be ground off... but I was sure to achieve good fusion. These wheels currently are 4" x 2.25" x 1/4" well thickness (aluminum). I plan to set aside @ least 5 hours in the future to make these wheels look GOOD.
