Default EVERLAST USA Customer featured in Discovery Channel (Canada) documentary.

Quite often we get questions from people that never heard of Everlast about the type of people buying our product, whether "serious" people would buy our product or not. Or if they are reliable enough to stand up to daily use.

The answer is yes...We have commercial, serious customers, and a lot more than you might expect, many with "fleets" of our product. Even here on the forum that have their shop practically coated in a layer of green paint.

Some people are trying to discredit the product, and others are heralding it. Either way the attention has opened up a lot of debate and given us a spotlight and an entry into a higher level market. We've added a lot of product, including the Heavy Industrial class MTS 400, that easily keeps up with the Miller XMT series units.

A lot of the commercial guys are busy working and don't have time to stop by and post. But many do lurk and others do post occasionally. We have been garnering a lot of attention nationwide, for different reasons...We've gotten a lot of opportunities for sponsorship and advertising. Many we have tried to take advantage of, and others we have had to turn down. We try to make sure that there is mutual benefit and the product we sponsor is worthwhile.

The following are pictures from our sponsored customers at WIKISPEED in Seattle...
WIKISPEED is in pursuit of developing a serious prototype 100 MPG+ car. Not only that while they are at it, it appears they have gone out in the challenge that they have produced a sports car, the SGT01. In fact they have just completed a filming with the Discovery Channel, Canada which should air in late October/ early November. They have given us permission to post this, and some of the exciting photos. I am also posting a link to their facebook site. Let's all go over there to visit with them and give them some Everlast family appreciation.

Here's some of the information excepted directly from Joe at WIKISPEED about the filming and the Everlast product.
"...thanks so much for sponsoring our 100 mpg car with an Everlast TIG welder!

To let you know, last Wednesday we were filmed by the Discovery Channel Canada, for their main show, The Daily Planet. That show is seen by 3.9 MILLION people PER DAY, and we will stay in the re-run loop for 12 months! The coverage is massive. It is shown on TV, and they post it online. We will send you a link as soon as we have one- likely this October or November.

It was phenomenal. Carol, the producer of our mini-documentary, said this is one of the coolest things she has ever seen. I called her on it, saying that couldn't possibly be true, she'd been with the Discovery Channel 16years and helped launch the Discovery Channel Canada- it's her business to fly around the world to see cool stuff. She reiterated that this was one of the coolest things she had ever seen. The camera-man, who had just gone for a ride with me, added by slowly nodding his head and saying "that thing is faaast."

Totally cool. 100 mpg worth of awesome."

That's great Mark. I'm gad to see Everlast getting some wide exposure and showing your machines being used by serious, and not just hobby users.

Nice to see that Everlast is getting more and more positive recognition.

I looked up the website for the Wikispeed car and it looks impressive. I hope they get the funding they need. The prototype cars in the picture look like they might be "test mules" that are used in testing out the drive train, and systems integration. I'm sure that when they go into production, things like the suspension will be much beefier, and the chasis wont be as boxy.

The 100mpg they are looking for is quite possible and I wish them the best. We are also looking into building another offroad racer and having a good sponsor is always important. Tubular steel is cheap compaired to transaxles and suspension components.

    Best Regards to All!

A blast from the past, I know- I was looking for this in the Oct/Nov timeframe and didn't see it. Was this show in the Canadian lineup only?

Yes. It was on the Canadian site. It was mixed in a tech show if I remember right on the Canadian site. Here is a youtube link to the segment on their site: http://www.wikispeed.com/
