I HIGHLY discourage the use of quick connectors...Why? Because the sudden depressurization will introduce moisture into the lines. It'll collect around the mouth of the fittings and go unnoticed and will be introduced as things are coupled and decoupled. Stick with a static fitting setup with less movement. Open and shut a valve and that's it. Also quick couplers have a nasty way of interfering with flow consistency and accuracy as the spring on ball connections can offer variations of degrees of opening. Automotive types, tend to wear and leak over time, with many repeated cycles.
I am pretty sure they are referring to using the quick disconnects on the outlets of the regulators (low pressure side), and still using two regulators.
Not sure how it would be much different from the quick connector on the front of my 200DX tig, or different from pulling a hose off of a barb and re-attaching.
