Thread: "LIKE" our New contest August 25-October 25 Prize 250EXT

Default "LIKE" our New contest August 25-October 25 Prize 250EXT

    August 25-October 25 2011 Contest
    You’ll LIKE this contest…
It’s time to reboot the contest. This time we are giving away our all new PowerTIG 250EXT or the equivalent 2495.00 of Green Bucks. In case you haven’t heard, the 250EXT is the new welder that we are bringing out shortly. It should be the TIG unit we have produced, and one of the best you will find on the market. This time we are asking our entrants to “LIKE” our site via Facebook. We will also feature a new minimum posting requirement of 75 posts to be eligible, more than the old 60 of the last contest. This contest will be longer, and require more posts. But the prize is larger than ever. Project posts with pictures and details will also count as entries. This time up to 5 project entries will be allowed. Each project posted will count as an additional entry. Each time you post a project, your name will go down into the “hat”. We realize that not all people will be able to post a project, but completing 75 ADDITIONAL posts during the contest (over and above what you have on August 25th) will enter you once and “LIKING” our page on Facebook will enter you again. That means you’ll have up to 7 chances to win. Old projects not posted before, and new ones in process can be posted. We ask that they have something to do with welding, metal working, or some form of metal fabrication. Please keep projects limited to metal related projects. Please post these projects under the projects section. Other posts can be throughout the forum. Keep in mind your project posts count toward your number of posts needed to fulfill the requirements. Also, please remember:
    1) Spamming, saying, good job, cool project, etc is discouraged and subject to being removed, causing your post count to go down.
    2) Be courteous; don’t make fun of a project. The quality of the project may vary, due to people’s skill level. IF you see something that needs improvement, say so constructively, with a possible solution.
    To sum up:
    7 entry’s are possible.
    1. You will need 75 posts for official eligibility during the contest. This counts as one entry.
    2. Liking our Facebook page is another entry (Subject to meeting the minimum 75 post count requirement)
    3. Up to 5 projects (metal related) can be entered as additional entries. Posts for the projects can count toward meeting your 75 post minimum requirement, but will not be counted until the requirement is met.

    TO ENTER:
    1) “Like” our homepage on facebook. (State that you have in your official entry here on this thread).
    2) REGISTER YOUR NAME ON OUR FORUM
    3) FILL OUT SIGNATURE LINE
    4) POST AVATAR (ASK IF YOU NEED HELP)
    5) STATE YOUR CURRENT POST COUNT HERE ON THIS THREAD
    6) By the end of the contest, you must have 75 MORE posts than you have at the beginning. In other words, if you have 10 at the beginning of the contest, you must have 85 at the end, not just 75 total posts.
    7) Complete up to 5 additional project posts to count toward a total of 7 possible entries.
    a) Projects should include: a) pictures b) details about size, dimension if applicable c) time took to complete, or estimated projection d) materials used e) discussion of why/how/what/etc was the reason you needed or wanted to do the project.
    b) State: This is project 1, project 2 from _____ (your screen name), a_________ (subject matter i.e.: fence) in the title line etc.

Once again here is the fine print contractual stuff that you need to be aware of:
By entering this contest, the winning entrant agrees to keep and maintain the Everlast unit(s) and not to sell or otherwise divest the unit for a period of 2 years. Also, by entering, the entrant agrees to be used as a reference for up to two years and his/her promotion and their likeness and comments be used in any future promotional literature. Everlast may ask for the entrant’s honest, heartfelt comments about the “prize” unit after a period of time to be used in evaluation, product improvement and promotions. No actual cash compensation will be made to the contest winner. The winning entrant also agrees to hold Everlast harmless /blameless against any, death, injury, loss of time, or other damage or inconvenience while using an Everlast product or by entering this contest. Everlast is not responsible for paying any applicable state, federal or local taxes that may be incurred from the winnings of this promotion and the winning entrant agrees to assume any tax responsibility and shipping incurred. Odds of winning are dependent upon the actual number of qualified entries received by the deadline date and time. By entering this contest, the contestant acknowledges and agrees to the terms and conditions of this contest. Final determination of eligibility is conditioned upon meeting the above criteria and the decision rests with Everlast.
Contestants must be 1) Either in the continental US or Alaska OR 2) pay shipping costs and any duty or taxes due.

That counts for another entry after the 75 post count entry, but that's sort of the reason behind the contest.

There are 7 possible entries, only one deals with facebook, but most people these days do have an account if they own a computer...I suppose someone could complain that our contest is on the internet, because they don't do internet or internet forums. But having someone like our page is a welcome gesture, and we are going on one's honor on this requirement largely.

The facebook thing isn't a complaint, it's just that I don't put personal info on the web.... I guess I'm an odd ball, I don't own a cell phone either.

I can spread the word to "Like" on facebook to those whom I know have an account. Of course I don't expect an additional entry for their "Likes" but it will serve to boost Everlast rating.

So when will pictures and product info be added under the "products" heading? Do you have bigger pictures and is there an owners manual yet?
