Thread: "LIKE" our New contest August 25-October 25 Prize 250EXT

Actually LIKE us is here at the top of the page. Click the like box. http://www.everlastgenerators.com/

But Mickey, please, I haven't thought that as many others. There are still things I don't know about our forum. If my father came to this site, he'd be no better (nor would his welding be much better after what I saw Sunday. :0)

I'm sorry it didn't work out... when you ask a question in one thread and don't respond to the help, then do more of the same it leaves people wondering. Click on your name beside your avatar and then click on view forum posts. This will show you all your posts... read back through them and maybe you'll understand my frustration. No hard feelings.

Well to be quite honest, most weldors I deal with either have a girl friend with a computer that goes online for them, or a boss/foremen that does all the quotes/bids on one. So I do not find it odd Mickey is sort of new and lost to a high-tech V-bulletin form. It's obvious as he is all over the place and we move what I can.

So "I" could see where a weldor (new member that welds) on a welding forum would get on here and not know what an avatar is (I though that was a movie and I have never seen it myself), and a LIKE on facebook, etc. I think we sometime forget this is a welding forum. Also, some customers live in places where a computer is not the spare time machine. Those guys do not even try to enter.

If we are going to stick with "post counts are from when you joined in the contest thread" you better get busy from here with more posting, assuming your got everything filled out on the check list.

If we note you were/are a "new" member AFTER the contest started and exceeded in what we were looking for in the contest via post and projects, well that is another deal. But this will probably have to go to Oleg. I know Everlast has always been beyond fair in the contest.

This is one of the areas we have been clear about. Its only fair to have the rules apply to all members for legal and other reasons.

IMO the most organized way is to edit your contest entry to add all pertinent information. This makes it easier on the people running the contest as well as others joining to have examples.

But, if you edit your entry - there is no way to tell if you changed your starting post number.

There should be records and it would take a sorry person to cheat, I'm sure they would be caught and dealt with.

I had that exact thought myself. By the same token though, anybody who isn't starting at 0 could just fudge his beginning count too.

I think it depends on how "Big Brothery" the forum software is as to what records there are, and judging by some of the content I've seen, I wouldn't put it past people to try.
Penncrest Buzzbox - Infinite amp control! Man the 70's were good.
Everlast Powerplasma 60 - Reliable unit, cuts well.
Everlast i-MIG 250P w/spoolgun - Really smooth, plenty of cajones.
Everlast 250EXT - Sometimes it just takes a kick in the balls...
Everlast 255EXT - Just started playing

It would be helpful for people to follow up and state their fullfillment and sum up their projects with links so it would speed up the process, but I'd not recommend going back to edit. But again, its helpful to follow up,and not required to fulfill their obligation. It'll just make sure we get it right the first time.

I am almost positive that that's how they are counting it Otherwise it wouldn't be equal for everyone. I'm curious to see what Mark says, correct me if I'm mistaken Mods.

No software does that for us. We ask you state your starting count. That's a fundamental part of qualification. Its dpne on gentleman's honor (and lady's honor). If something comes to light that it wasn't done appropriately, then we will have to disqualify of course. The winning drawing will be further scrutinized of course.

Mark, My 2 qualifying entries (75 post and 1 project) are summarized in Post #5 of this thread. I am not counting the like on facebook that my sister was supposed to submit (I don't think it should qualify as a third entry since it was not me who "liked").

I thought someone said to edit out post to update... I started on the forum in the middle of the contest and still didn't count the two posts before I started. At over a hundred today I think I'm fine either way (the first 75 were substantial posts, some since then have been short and probably wouldn't count) All my details are in Post 52 here, post counts, list of projects, etc.
