Thread: Tig Finger

  1. #1

    Default Tig Finger

Jody Collier, owner of WeldingTipsandTricks.com has a product that I think is well worth the money.

It's called a TIG finger. You slip it over your welding glove and it allows you to slide your pinky over the hot metal allowing for a more precise, steady weld without the pain of cooking your finger.

I have two of them and I can say that it really helps with most all types of welding. I've used it for gas welding, tig welding and mig welding.

    Check it out at http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/...tigfinger.html

Jody has done some reviews of the Everlast equipment and watching his videos will give you some insight on how to set up Everlast tig welders.

I don't work for Everlast, WeldingTipsandTricks and do not own stock in those companies.

They are great Steve. There has been discussion of them in several threads here in the past.

As Tritium mentioned, there is already a thread on these. I do think they are nice to have and have used mine a lot. I have also burnt my TIG glove to my finder a couple of times lol. I do find that they can be bulky but that is probably because of the size of my hands.

    Jason,
I use the Tig finger and mine has streched out and is very comfortable now. I took the plunge and ordered a three pack. Keep the guide finger from getting toasty.

I took the plunge and bought the 3 pak, glad I did. More than once, I have had all 3 of them on on at once in certain situations. It's amazing what a difference you can get in control when you have that little extra insulation to allow you to get closer to the weld. Yes, they are bulky, but you will get used to it, and spoiled by not cooking your fingers

Mine are opposite I need some smaller ones but regardless they do work. I have toasted my TIG fingers though and one of them is discolored now.

Yeah you probably can get the basic part cheaper, but I feel that Jody Collier does a great job at Weldingtipsandtricks.com and should be supported. He is a weldor's college degree for free via internet video.

His Tigfinger is one of the ways he supports the bandwidth and production costs. Buying a few things from him helps keep him making videos and answering questions. I don't know of too many folks with as much welding knowledge as Jody.

I fully agree that Weldingtipsandtricks is a great asset to the welding community, I love his videos and his straight forward no BS approach. He even teaches people to save money where they can. The majority will always buy tig fingers from Mr. Collier, for the few who need a different size or something cheaper, there are alternatives. As for band width and production costs, a youtube channel with that much traffic will turn a healthy profit through AdSense.

Steve has duplicated yet another thread, which would have been more appropriate for his review:
    http://www.everlastgenerators.com/fo...om-Jody-s-Site

Please search before you post, guys, and try to help keep information well organized on the board. Anyone trying to research the topic will be much better off, being able to find more condensed information in fewer threads, rather than spread out across many (essentially duplicated) threads.

Threads can be merged, but I agree that it's best to keep the board well organized.

When I seen them in his videos, I thought to myself that I could easily make those for cheaper but I still ordered a 3 pack, The reason was to support him with the little that I did for his time making those videos and allowing us to watch them and learn for free. It was my way to say "thanks and I appreciate the videos you have made".

I "BUY" his videos on disk also. It is the least I can do to support his good work.

I'm not a neat freak. I like a messy desk. I can find a needle in a haystack. But I will admit that I do have a lot of socks with missing other halves. Not sure why socks give me so much trouble...... With that being said.......and not to be argumentative.......

That is what Google and the advanced search option on this site is for if you want to stay organized. But If I was to post on an older thread, I would get chastised for opening up an old thread. Had that happen so many times with so many other sites. Not just to me but others as well. I don't read posts older than a few months old. Like reading yesterdays newspaper. Old news if you ask me. You just can't win with anyone, anywhere, anymore!

    Just my opinion of course!

There is nothing new under the sun....even here on this site. Except announcements for new contests and new machines......I really like those.

I ordered the 3 pack cause I'm guaranteed to loose at least one. Not only are they good for tig welding, but can be quiet handy when you are torching something out.

The main reason I got 3 was to give one to a friend and I could also use them on more than one finger if desired.

so does anyone use these for other welding activities other then just tig? i often find myself running a long bead of flux core and with 1/16" wire, i burn my hands alot. sometimes i like to try to rest my hand on the material and steady myself, this seems like it could help.
