Shortened Shifter
This is a little project I did for my sons car. I shortened his shifter 1 inch for lower profile and quicker shifting. A brand name one would have cost about $150 and eBay about $35 or so.
First I put Dykem Blue and scribed a reference line down the length. Wasn’t sure if the threads were clocked. Next I took a pipe cutter and cut an inch out of the middle. Then I beveled the edges. Clamped it together and tacked it. A nice little bead and you’re done.
It was a fun little project to do and saved some money too. The interior is not back in the car so there’s no photo of that yet.
