    Default pu205, Hi from Houston!

Hi ya'll! I'd dne' and I'm from Houston, tX.
Just got my PU205 a few weeks ago(posted some problems in the appropriate section), I bought it mainly for the Plasma cutter, but thought a Tig might be handy, or something to play with. Anyway, I work on old cars and fabricate whatever I can lay my hands on. I need to find some scrap metal!! I'm ok at mig( I have a Systematics Mp175 and a Northern tools 135amp mig). Everyone needs at least 3 types of welding machines! lol I'm shocked what I can weld with my 175 amp mig(just got it), it's amazing! Now If I can just get the PU205 going! I work alone, but my husband will help me if I need help, but not with the welding! ; )

Enjoy the capabilities of the plasma cutter. We use our's WAY more than the oxy/acetylene torch. We've got an old stick and a Handler 120 MIG. Good for any light industrial stuff.

Scrap may be where you find it- my favorite is old bed frames. Grind off a few rivets, and you have instant angle iron. What kind of things are you working on, and have you thought about entering the current contest?

Default What am I working on?

Well first off, Ray from everlast called and tried guiding me through to adjust my points under the hood of my PU205, and I could not find what he was talking about! I'm so embarresed!! So I sent him a couple pics of the circuit board hoping he can show me.

What am I working on? WEll, I was thinking about welding a new frame onto my '59 chevy apache truck, or a mustangII, or just leave it stock and not weld anything! lol I did modify a hoyer lift to use in my garage so not to have to lift objects heavier than I should. I call it my "Little Mule"! ; ) I think we have an old bed from in the attic!

The only down side to old bed frames is that most of them I have come across seem to be rather high carbon. Makes projects that require very much drilling a lot less fun.

Edit: Forgot to offer greetings to my fellow forum noob.

Oh,...FYI, go to the first page & scroll all the way to Mark's (Performance) post. This has the info on how the contest works and the "fine print"..
