    Default 250ex cover

With all the dust and metal particulate floating around my shop, I'd really like a cover for my tig. Any suggestions or solutions out there?

It isn't sexy, and it isn't that expensive. It only takes two words to best describe it. Trash Bag!

I was hoping for something in Everlast green or at least something that could be adapted.
A canvas bag of some sort.

Hobart makes a nice welding blanket, fold it in half and drape it over the machine, works for me.

Old Shower curtains work very well and are available in a variety of colors at most dollar stores if new is preferred.

I use a green cotton welding jacket... kinda matches the welder.

I went to Wal Mart and went to their material section. They had some corduroy and so I bought some, sewed it up and it makes for a real nice cover. Cheap too.

These guys will make a custom cover for 30 dollars plus shipping out of this material.

I think a good cover will be important for the welder in a shop like mine. My Lincoln has lasted 8 years but all of its electronics are encased in what looks like solid silicone. I don't know if that is industry standard, but it seems like a good idea. The pics I've seen of the 250ex have the electronics open.
I'm going to order the cover @ 24x10x17. It's a little oversized as I don't want to struggle over knobs and hoses every time I put it on. Now the only question is green or black.

Sometimes the practical is the bast way to go. I like the trash bag idea. There are so many ways to cover a welder, I see no need to spend a hundred dollars on a cover. An old sheet or even to old trash bag would serve the purpose.

I try to make my green welder feel special by waxing it before the trash bag goes on.

It bristles when it gets the creamy carnuba that it's green paint craves so much.

    OK enough!

This place sent me a quote for $85 - $105 for a canvas cover depending on the material I choose.
They can also put a logo on it for an additional price.

I bet a good upholstery shop could whip one up in no time.

Heck, now I'm even thinking of upgrading to naugahide.

This one shouldn't be hard for me because I live in the land of tuck and roll.

A nice canvas cover would be nice if you could find the green or gray stuff...complete with piping down the seams.
