Thread: New Old Guy in Florida

  1. Default New Old Guy in Florida

Hello to all I just bought Power Tig 200LX and Power Plasma 50 in one shot! I was looking at the AC/DC Multifunction all in one but decided to go separate with a heck of a package deal!
Cant wait to try them out. My current home project is C5 suspension kit front and or rear for Pro Touring cars. I’m doing a mini tub on my 05 GTO and using C5 rear suspension with a 8.8 rear end. Also C5 Front suspension for First Gen Mustang.

    FabGTO,
    Welcome from upstate New York.
Nicely outfitted with a new Plasma cutter and welder, you will be having a lot more fun and enjoyment while working on your projects.
    Good luck,

Welcome Fab. The LX is a well equipped machine, especially for its size. Be sure to post your progress with your projects....Now is a good time to start!

    FabGTO,

    Welcome aboard.

I like my plasma cutter free from the welder myself. Some people have space issues, some have wives/budgets. Either way it works.

    Shoot up some pictures.

You need to email status@everlastwelders.com for a tracking number if I understand what you are asking.

The forum is more for tech support and open 24/7 pretty much. The sales and shipping office can send you what you need Monday when we open 9:30AM PST.

Not a bad find. A buddy had one in primer for a long time and finally sold it. Hope you finish yours. I still have a small Falcon hub cap laying around here somewhere.

We are about to announce a contest, so be ready to take some pictures

Yep, like a big bottle cap.

I saw some of your posts on 4x4. Man, sounds like you have been through a bit.

You'll love our units and support. If you have any questions, just post them here.

Also, under the news and announcements, not sure if you saw we are having a contest. Worth a look.

I was gna buy from you or the other guy but this was in Jan and you didn’t have product then plus I fell for his BS and the things he said about you. Live and learn, the other drama continues, worst “on line” situation I ever been involved in and that says a lot! EverLast is off to a good start, Thanx

Unfortunately, in this business, its not always the cream that rises to the top, but eventually the truth comes out it spits and spurts till all is known.

I hope that we will do our best to heal the wounds of our competitor.

I would be satisfied if I could get 1/2 $ I spent on the all in one. As it is your offer to fix for free is looking good. I just hate to stick some one else with it even with full disclosure.
    BTW
Power Plasma 50 arived today looks great and the 200 should be here tomorow.

I would wager that they aren't both doa, but something else that is a common thread. Have you tested your outlet? The units are tested before they leave the factory. Or possibly they aren't wired correctly...We will be glad to walk you through. DOA's are almost unheard of now with our products.

I responded to your email around 6:30AM EST. You emailed me back but I did not see a phone number. This would be easier to cover by phone. You thought the HF arc inside the unit was a bad, this is normal, and it means that the unit is not DOA.

As Mark stated, DOAs are very rare and caused by shipping damage or operator error, and normally we can undo the operator part.

PM or email a number to our support. I will reply to your 12:30 email with my direct number in a bit.

I was sure the arc inside the unit was the problem but you say this is normal. It’s like the frequency is off it doesn’t sound rite in AC. I had no problem ark welding or DC tig but with AC tig I just burn everything up, blow holes in aluminum. I read everything I could find but just seems to get worse. I can’t try any more till I get more parts. I burned up all my shields and tungsten. No idea what I’m doing wrong.

I have no problem AC tig with my PMW machine.

The Plasma has an air leak inside the machine.

I asked in Email what settings I should start with for aluminum but got no answer. Safe basic settings?

There is no default setting to start on anything.

The "arc" inside the unit is fine.

Aluminum is not easy to weld and it does not have a glow you can see when it melts.

What is the thickness? Is it cleaned "really" well? Straight argon? It is a soft metal so it is like soldering sort of.

Aluminum is hard to see when it melts (will go from shiny if cleaned right to a haze) and if you sit there too long you will burn a hole.

Can you give us more details? Or a call.

I already answred the Argon Question. 1/8th" also tubing fittings.
I dont see the diffrence in the 2 machines Like I said never had a problem with the PMW took me .5 hr to start welding any thing I could find. When I switch to AC it just sounds wrong.
