G'day from downunder

Hi

Just bought an Everlast PowerARC 200. Will not arrive for about 1 week and looking forward to using it. Just a hobby welder who loves mucking about in the shed with steel and bikes.

Just sold my WIA 250 Mig Welder. She was way too big for what I was doing and the $3,000 cash I got for her goes a long way to getting my new KTM350 EXC-F.
It was costing a heap in bottle rental and gas re fills, so I figured with what I need the welder for a good little inverter would do the trick nicely, besides any monkey can MIG.

Looking forward to showing, and seeing, some projects in here, as well as perhaps gaining a little knowledge along the way.

I would if I liked face book, but I am not, nor ever will be, apart of it or twitter or any of the other replicas. Rather be out welding or riding my KTM

Resistance is futile. I resisted until this last spring, finally gave in. I check in once a day or so, lots of my friends around the country are on there and it really does make it easier to keep up than just e-mail and phone.

Not for this black duck ! I find everything about face book and other applications like that to be a total waste of brain cells.
I feel I am not that important to be 'In touch' all the time. Nor do I feel the need to inform everyone when I am about to sit down and pour a coffee.

I will resist, tar and feather me, but do not sign me up for face book ! No, No, Nooooooooooooo.........

Agree 100% on the facebook. Twitter is next in line. Some guys had their friends (probably wife or kids) do the "like" to get in the contest. I personally would have never made that a requirement to any contest. But hey, I just work here.

A thought for the guys reading this and going with the PowerARC-200 to skip the gas issues, mind you it's a great unit. You can also get a smaller IMIG unit (IMIG-200). You have a great stick welder and you can run flux core wire and still have your MIG for a pretty good price.

Add gas if needed and cover a couple bases in the field and in the shop. Cost wise the PowerArc is hard to beat though, but just a thought for the folks with TIG and looking to save on some gas or Plasma users looking for their next move.

The gas less MIG did cross my mind, but lightweight and price won out in the end. plus all the good write ups people have given it.

The IMIG-200, is very small as well. And nothing but good press as well, like Mark said we will match our stick and MIG against anyone's same size unit.

BUT, the price break makes the PowerArc on heck of a deal.

Just letting others know, there are a couple other gas less option and you can have MIG too (and gas MIG).

I thought the only requirement was for the post count and the facebook thing was just an additional bonus entry, like the projects. And yeah, I was one of those who shamelessly used the wife for that purpose.

As I can't enter the contest I guess I did not read it all that close. However, people do feel they must get that check list done first thing to join.

I still dislike facebook, but hey, if you can "creatively" get a like for the contest, more power to ya.
