Default Project #5 from Revkev6 quick and easy torch holder

Hey guys, spent a couple minutes in the garage this morning and scrounge around to see what I had to make a simple and versatile tig torch holder.

I had a "100lb lifting magnet" from harbor freight that I never used stuck to some shelving. It is a steel magnet so I could weld some hooks right to it. I pulled a couple hooks off of my peg board and welded them to it. presto chango we have a torch holder!

The torch holder can also be stuck to the side of the table to make a clear work spaceClick image for larger version.

Looks good I think you might want to put hook over the top of cup to keep somebody from bumping into and knock the tourch on the floor just a thought maybe or not

    Looks good.

Might even be useful to add on an arm on the side opposite the holder that is configured similar to a "3rd hand" so you could use it as a welding clamp / hold down.

Very cool. I plan on making one similar to the one in the picture once I get my hands on a PT250EX and a Power Plasma 60.

the hook is a good Idea, possibly turn one end into a full ring for the cup to slide into. only bad thing about that would be it could only mount on one side of the table.

the magnet I'm using is definitely strong enough for something like that. right now it's stuck to my very thin makeshift table, but when you stick it to heavy steel it STICKS.

I thought about making one like that. I have some nice aluminum I could cut one out of. If I end up finding the quickie version I made doesn't work as well as I think it will I might break out the sawzall and the hole saws and go at it. now plasma here (yet anyway). one drawback of that style is they only stand on top or on the side, no option of both.
