I've only ever used the WP-18 that came with my EX, so cannot comment on size comparisons. Strictly speaking, any torch should be adaptable to be made to work with the welder.

Well I looked around and found a cooler on Amazon that sure looks like the 300 EL sells and the same specs. I had been trying to get with sales here for a price but with the show it happen to late. Not sure I like the make offer deal here the one I picked up was 369 yes it is a black Longevity but bet it works all the same. Hope I dont have to eat those words and if so if will not be the 1st time. To all that replied thank you for the help.

Broke a tooth yesterday and been bug in the crap out of me other wise would have just hung in longer but get to go pay 350 to have 2 pulled in the am seems like it is always something what can you do?

I cannot imagine why it wouldn't. A modern water cooled tig torch is pretty much a modern water cooled tig torch, and a cooler for the same is a cooler for the same.... but good luck... all the same

Well got the black box in the other day Sure looks much like the Green one I did have a bit of a problem with the 220 plug on the back of the LX. You know the one that looks like PC power hook up. The black unit just has a 2 prong white generic plug that says 220 v on it. so I rigged up a plug since I have never seen a reverse one before. Took a old PC power inlet out and and modified it to plug into the ever last LX. everything is working well Except the cooler does not turn on and off with the powering up of the LX. I turn the cooler on on the cooler switch the cooler in plugged into the plug in on the lx when I turn the lx off the cooler still runs and I just have to turn it off manually. For some reason I thought the whole reason of plugging the cooler into the welder was to help control you on off that they would both work at the same time.
I dont think it will hurt anything and I can flip a switch. I kinda wish EL would have been quicker with there reply's The 100 I saved on the Black unit is great just would have been nice to have it plug and play.

Can anyone tell me why is it that an w18 that comes with the LX has no QC plugs on the water lines. But the w 20 I ordered and got from EL comes with them on the lines. I can not tell from the pics of the EL 300 cooler if it has QC hookups but the Black unit has the nipples that you hold the lines in place with a Small ### hose clamp .

Hope you can follow this I not always clear on what Im saying. thanks to 2 small Strokes about 10 years ago. At lest that's what I blame it on.

Both these units have to be coming from the same place or someone's brothers making one or the other, they are just 3 pubic hairs different from each other

I hope this dont upset anyone but are the Black and green related because even the 2 forums are the same layout Im not trying to get a debate of which is better as long as it works is all I want.

Your tone does seem a little hostile...maybe I am reading it wrong. That's fine, but you need to know there are reasons we are more expensive.

Look closer and you'll find more differences if you know what you are looking for, mainly in quality of components. There are at least two coolers produced that look the same...and yes water coolers come from several different factories...Many of the factories are not vertically integrated like they are here in the US...But there are two grades of the same cooler in appearance but with differences in construction. We use the more expensive grade of components. I won't go into all what they are, but there is a difference. It goes back to the basic construction and materials used and where. The cooler you have sounds as if its also isn't grounded and I would consider it a risk unless you grounded it properly when you rewired it. We can sell a cheaper cooler too, but we don't. Time will tell in the years to come. You won't find many if any complaints about ours.

The Everlast Coolers come with quick connect couplers and the nipples for the torch water lines as well that are color coded. That's worth nearly half of the difference you paid right there. We send the WP 18 torch out so people can hook to an existing cooler and adapt it as needed IF they wish just as you have done. The torches we send out are typically torches that people are ordering for our units...It means if they are ordering a watercooled torch from us then they usually have both one of our coolers and a welder in which case they have likely used the fittings with the cooler for their 18 series torch. Or if they don't then nothing lost and no frustration from the customer trying to search around for the right fittings.

So to sum up what I am saying: If you are interested in the lowest price, great. I hope the black cooler works for you...just don't use it in the sun since you'll likely end up with a water heater instead of a cooler. But if you want a better quality, then you'll have to pay for it. We don't charge that much to begin with, but someone is always going to provide a similar but cheaper version of something no matter the price.

Wow Mark ah you sure seem a bit cold /Hostile. Than again as like always seems to happen on these sites as with Email you can often take what someone is saying wrong and that is what is happening on both side here!
Im new to all this. You say if I want better stuff than I have to pay more to get it? Wow I guess what you are saying is Red and Blue MUST be better because they want more $. We both know now days thats not always true.
I was merely asking questions ? I tend to come off the wrong way because of the Stroke and I mentioned that right off. so dont get your panties in a wad.
Again to be direct most of my confusion tended to result in the problem of being new and you all problems with this Show that was going on. Now I dont know anything about it or what it is/ was I merely wanted to buy a unit because I was told I would need one and the fact is I dont really Being a Newbie It will be awhile before I get to that point but wanted to do it right.
It brothers me when a Company or it owners feel they need to defend or out right attack anyone who questions the product.

I really believe we are both off some here.. I hope we become known to each other so we can read things and not get defensive with each other. Do I have a problem with EL NO!! do I think you communications could use some improvement Yes! That was the problems in the 1st place. Often we can be a better this or that but because or problems with communication we never get the chance to show someone who / we are .

As for the unit differences I do not like the grounding problem ether, or the lack of QC but did not see them on the pic on your site. And I will say that many times we can see someone wear a higer $$ pisce of this or that. the fact is it worked for them and they made due with what they got whick I will c/o to long about the grounding or lack of on a water unit but I can say I dont need a 10 k gun to put meat on a table I make due with what I got and as anyone that knows me know I eat well.
With that I will Close have to run and hope we can get to know each other well enought to be hepfull to each other. Had someone took the time and pointed this things out before hand I would have pd the $$ But what you all did was not deal as well as the other guys until I committed to buy from them then You dropped 50 lower and told me just refuse the pick up on the other. Thats not the way I work if I tell you something I good for my word even if I know I will take the hit. Thank for you input wish it would have been so clear when I was dealing

I jsut got back and read this again and understand where I may have sound like I was running The Green Machine down and that was not my intent. Fact is I have 3 EL units 2 just are not green but the blues you sold on Ebay and they work great so does the other Chinese unit made over in Sneg. look much like your old blue 205. You are not aware of the way things went down trying to buy this cooler and Alex/Oreg came though like a champ in showing it must just been a messed up time.

With that siad I do feel the way you worded your reply infers you "get what you pay for" and I understand that. The problem is when you have someone new like me well I dont know #### about what you units are. Heck I never heard of a cooler for a welder before this. So Im sorry if I said something to offend you. To me when someone is upset because I voice something pos or neg about their I make me wonder why they are defensive. a good Product will sell itself and should not need defending. So lets start over.
With that how do I do about making sure the cooler is grounded correctly. I have sent the same question to Long but no one has replied yet. I told them I would return it if they cant tell me how to ground it.

one of the things that messed up the cooler from EL was the "Make Offer" deal with the show and all no one was resounding then it was countered and then I found the one on Amazon. The rest is History
So lets agree I can be a ### and just get along. Not here to pick fights with anyone just want to learn to do something new
