    Default Stainless for welding surface

    I may have a chance of getting 1 inch by 7 inch stainless flats I was wondering if they would make a better welding table surface then the steel I now have
    Everlast I mig 205
    Everlast 200 amp spool gun
    Everlast 250 ex
    H. F. 12x36 lathe
    Grizzly Mill
    10,000 lb two post lift
    Box and Pan Brake
    Bead roller
    jet 5x7 horizontal band saw
    Wilton 14 inch vertical band saw
    Mitec 50 A plasma cutter.
    tool grinder
    20 ton press and press brake
    more power and hand tools then I can list here
    Dodge Neon that runs 10.23 @143 mph in the quater
    70 Chevelle convert
    It took 62 years But I finally have my dream Garage

    You wouldn't be able to use magnet clamps and tacking to the table would be a pain. I would probably store the SS for a future project. Do not pass on it, just not sure a table would be my first pick. Or maybe an add-on working end of the current table?

    Mike it was on craigs list and listed as 1 x 7 x 8ft stainless as it turned out it was 1 x 7 baseboard thin gauge and not what I thought it was.

    Funny, I just saw the 8ft long and my eyes lit up. Then I saw baseboard. Too bad.
