Thread: Powerultra 205 unpacked...have ?'s

  1. Default Powerultra 205 unpacked...have ?'s

It's all unpacked, everything looks good. Just a few questions before I power it up and try it out.

I already posted my question on the suitability of the enclosed plug.

I assume the compressed air for plasma and the argon for tig share the same inlet / outlet on the machine.

Can the hose barb on rear of machine simply be removed and replaced with a nipple? Are the threads NPT? I don't like hose barbs where I have to switch connections often. I would like to form a T with valves and quick couplers.

I have never used this type of rod holder before. How the heck do you install rods into the thing?

I'm sure I'll have more ?'s but I guess that's it for now.

    Thanks

I have seen people use a three way ball valve like the ones on this page.

You can probably find them cheaper than from McMaster Carr but McMaster is fast easy and reliable.

I don't know what threads the connections would have. You could do a permanent rubber hose from the back of the welder to the outlet of the ball valve.

The barb nipples are metric or british...

The stub holder simply twists counter clockwise to Unscrew it to allow it to open up the internal jaws. Twist back to tighten.
