Thread: 250EXT waveforms

    Default 250EXT waveforms

What waveforms are available on the EXT's?

When will the manuals be available?

Square wave. The unit does have bias(amplitude) control, which you can use to modify the wave. Manual will be available in the next couple days.

I assume that the bias control is on AC mode, and it's different than the EN/EP ratio?

I must have misunderstood this statement-

" Improvements in design and function will be apparent over our current series, with AC bias control which will allow individual setting of the + and - half cycle of the AC current. Combined with pulse, this is an excellent feature for controlling heat input, tungsten shape and cleaning width on Aluminum. Advanced wave form control with varying AC wave form will be available as well to adjust arc characteristics as well while welding aluminum. "

You did not understand. We nixed the waveform. We have discussed this fact in other threads about the unit. We have worked with it, but until we feel it is stable, it will not be added to this unit. The welder is a powerhouse as it is, and the amplitude control mimics a lot of what wave form can do.

Could you show me how to find these other threads? If I do a search for " waveform " it does not bring up any ext threads.

I can't find it right now...in the middle of completing the EXT manuals...but its there among several questions concerning the ext by several members.
But regardless it is what it is concerning the waveform. We are still working on it for the unit, but due to the time it was taking to develop it, compared to other items, we decided to go with what we knew worked and was solid.

When mine gets here, I was thinking about doing that just for sh!ts & grins.
Penncrest Buzzbox - Infinite amp control! Man the 70's were good.
Everlast Powerplasma 60 - Reliable unit, cuts well.
Everlast i-MIG 250P w/spoolgun - Really smooth, plenty of cajones.
Everlast 250EXT - Sometimes it just takes a kick in the balls...
Everlast 255EXT - Just started playing
