I agree with the 200DX being probably the best value out there for 90% of the users. I bought one and it works great.

Good morning guy's, I put my last post on the tig thread, sorry. I have a stick welder, mig and plasma so I just want a tig,but wondered if the dx200 might be better just for the pulse and foot pedal. I'm just conserned with thin like .095 aluminum on the worn out flat bottom's I patch up. I figure it's got to better than my spool gun as for as burn through. Thank's again and have blessed day.
You can use the pulse to reduce the effective output of eh welder as well. For .095, you will still need a fair amount f current to weld it. Aluminum typically takes more current then steel due to the high thermal conductivity of aluminum. You will probably between 70-100 amps, depending on the type of joint you are working with.

i was hesitant about buying green as well, but for the price, you cant even look at red or blue. so far the service has been great to me and i havent even got my machines yet. i use blue all day long and really i love them. i wasent even going to look at anything else, but like i said, for the price i couldnt buy what i wanted from blue. for the home shop, i believe this is a great purchase.

I say go green too. Its a chance that everyone here has been willing to take and majority say it was a great by. Im one of them. As they say majority rules. I done have a tig but got the powerarc 200. It was VERY cheap and i will say works great. I have never had a problem with it and as everyone says the service is great. May have a wait every once in a while if you prepay before the units are in but thats all I had. For the money you cant go wrong. Since then my plan is to save up for a powerplasma 50. Im a believer now along with many other people on here.

I'm completely satisfied with my two Everlast units as well, Powerplasma 70 and Powertig 200DX. You hear lots about them being 'great for the money', but I think the quality is top of the line, regardless of the price. I have been investing in tools for around 40 years, and these are in no way disappointing.
People must understand that even Everlast tech support, Mark, Ray, myself. We all started somewhere. Crack on ESAB and Mark will crack you on the head probably. I to was Red (plasma) AND Blue (MIG/TIG) at one time. When a red machine died and it was $2400 to fix it and a new one was $2600+, I felt a little duped.
I went to the internet, saw lots of hate mail on Everlast, I took the plunge/chance. It was much worse back then. Funny thing, I got cold feet and canceled my order, Alex said no problem unit had not shipped. I thought if that easy to get my money back, I called back again and re-ordered. I could tell he was a little ticked.
Months later I start working in tech support for Everlast, all this MANY years ago... So for me it's all green. My units are used about everyday including Sat and Sun (MIGs for sure). I have sons that bring in projects, and buddy's everyday. Today, Sunday, is a trailer axle chop and golf cart rear seat frame.

I own a couple shades of red and blue. My new baby is a blue everlast. My company units are all Miller, 6 total. I can say now after 20 years of being paid to weld and cut steel and all the dealings with various companies that Everlast has the best customer service. Going off costs from everlast for torch's I'm guessing the parts are cheap enough to make me want to repair rather than replace. If a company is willing to replace or repair your welder until it works thay are well worth dealing with. My first unit lasted a couple minutes and Mike helped me through the weekend and Ray after only a few minutes on the phone gave me intructions and it was heading back the next day. My new unit after a tiny manual issue is working good. I have a total of 8 days without my everlast since purchase. My doa miller... 4 months! AND!!!! The dealer is 6 miles from my door.
It is just my opinion but if a company will hold your hand, not treat you like your stupid, and stand behind their product with a 30 day money back and 5 years why not try them. I'm sold on everlast based mostly on what I have seen as far as prices, the help I got, and help I have seen people get here.
I will say that I was about to quit making smokers (never heard of plasma cutters 2 years ago) because cutting propane tanks for smokers and grills I was about to quit because my hands would hurt for days after cutting for doors and other openings with cutting wheels. Moving forward 2 years and several plasma cutter because of problems, now a PP50, I will have to say that for sure there's issuses they are dealing with.their machines . Of coarse I'm not talking about all there machines now, just my PP50. Mike and Ray as Tech's have worked with me over the phone tirelesly to try to get the machine up and not have to send it in. I have told them they are treating me like a real costomer with a problem and have stood by the warrenty 100%. They sent me a replacement machine but recalled it back last month before it got to my home because a modification had not be put in. It would not have lasted very long they said with the factory part there R and D dept. had said. They work with me on my machine issues. I can't afford the Hyper, etc. priced machines and there repair costs which are a lot more. I can't ask for a better caring customer service people than the people at Everlast. A little trouble understanding them sometimes but I've had too many rivet guns in my ears also. Thanks again for the support and I know I will have a machine once the bugs are worked out that will last. In short, the customer service, price, warrenty, the products and tech support you can't beat it. Thanks Mickey
