Default PROJECT 1 from JERKY: tig cooler

first thing ill be using computer fans to cool my core. ive already got the power source, just pondering on what fans to buy. im looking for a core now, little tricky to find a copper core one. ill make a reservoir out of some stainless. then to find a decent pump. so running costs:

power source: FREE, traded for my garage door opener (no longer needed it)
fans: 3 120mm computer fans... http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX8708 total was $28 (with shipping)
    tubing: ---
    core: https://www.jab-tech.com/Black-Ice-G...e-pr-3422.html $83 (with shipping)
stainless sheet metal: picked up some scraps for 40$, wont use all of it. so say 20$
    pump: ---
    TOTAL:--

PICS TO COME ONCE I ACTUALLY START BUILDING IT

http://www.jab-tech.com/XSPC-c-326.html they use 1/4 bspp fittings which are just like 1/4" npt without the taper and seal with an o-ring. The fittings are available in lots of configurations like 1/4" through 1/2" hose barb, 1/4 through 1/2" compression or even dry break. All copper or brass.

So finally got the plasma and tig working. Still have to tweak some things. So im building the resivour out of 16 gauge ss. I plasma out 4.5" x 9.5" sheets. The sheet was only 9.5" wide so thats why i went that way. So here are some pics. It looks really bad, no prep and not correct fitup, but after waiting months for the tig, all i wanted to do was play.... The last pic is a great example of why back purging is required... Lol.

That ia the inside joint. The white stuff was like fluff and under it was black carbide precipation and sugering. Basically all the bad stuff when welding ss.

so the rad came in yesturday, and the fans came in tonight and i just had to play... if your wondering why i have 2 clear and one black, its because they were all on sale, but there was a limit of only 2. and i wasent about to pay 18$ for a fan just so they could match.
