I think mine lasted almost an hour.

I've had it apart and figured out the pot is in adjustment and the switch works well, but the numbers are all over the place, much like the amperage control of the pedal.
Somebody please post a part number of a heavy duty model to replace it with and an online source for the part. I can solder.

The new pot arrived yesterday and I got it installed last night. For the first time my foot pedal works as it should.....but still scarily chintzy.

Good to hear. My replacement pedal should be here on Wednesday according to the tracking info. I'll be glad to get back to being able to fine tune the power with my foot.

Oleg, if you are reading this can you please get a pedal out to me Express. I really need it by the end of this week. The last pedal came ground and then it was the wrong pedal anyways. I need the one with the pot in the pedal for the older 200DX.

    Thanks,
    Chris

If someone gets a bad unit, pedal, torch, shipping damage, missing item, etc. It needs to be fix that second in their mind, they get mad. This is normal. I do it as well when I internet order and something is broke, bent or not working (example in a second).

We have an open forum (once you sign up) so it's easy to take shots at us, especially while you are waiting on the part and wanting to use your new welder. You'll see in the end, they end up posting all is well, and that is the main thing. Some just run off and weld, but most give us our props.

If you want a great price on a welder or cutter, sometimes, sometimes, a little effort or waiting might be involved. This is with anything you buy. We at Everlast do our very best to resolve it quickly.

THAT EXAMPLE (skip below, just a rant):

My son ordered a $400 superchip module that did not work out of the box, tons of research before the purchase. I called them for him (he's 16, let Dad handle this). I was upset for him, told them there is a bug in this thing. They said "sir there no a bug in the programmer", 30 minutes later, him asking for me to do this and that, he admitted they're working on a work-around for the 2000-2008 Ford Ranger 4.0, it will not talk to the OCB2 port for some reason (protocol).

    SO:

The dealer "did" take it back and "paid the shipping back". I am out my time with reseller and the company, son did not get the chip at all (he is looking at edge now). We did get the refund. So all good I guess? We would have rather have had the working superchip module, but "things" happen. Oh yea, made in the USA, Orlando Florida. So was I, but not in Orlando and lots of bugs too.

It all worked out, but my point, I was all over the superchip tech, no bug, error ##, his bluetooth and android torque software work just fine.

If I could tell you how many Everlast tech calls with problems that are not our unit. Hope I don't get Ray or Mark start on this comment.

I think a lot of questions and problems could be solved with a much more in depth USER MANUAL. The one supplied with my 200dx was not even good enough english to understand. Yes, I know, they are written by the chinese and then translated. The downloaded one off the site, aint much better. I still have not been home to work out the bugs on my 200dx, so I am not sure if there is a problem with it or not. Maybe could have been my prep, or settings. I couldn't tell as the manuals are sketchy. No I am not mad, well maybe a little, but not at Everlast. More pissed that I have not been home in 3 months. lol

If you are referring to the one in the box. You need to download the one online (red button upper right on every page of the US website; not the forum pages), the manual in the box is very dated and not done here in the US. We are working on that being resolved.

And, we're working on the manuals as you posted actually. Yes Sunday, I was just emailed updates to the Multi-process units this AM (which the TIG and stick directly apply to the PowerTIG as well).

Note we will update the manual online, so you will want to check it on occasion for updates.

You can pull the older SuperSeries manual, I think we had a about welding into as well. Not the same unit, but a lot of the same functions. Maybe something we couple add to the new series manuals.

But it will never teach you to weld, just what the functions do. The new manual will get you closer, little better wiring info, little more overall info also. Best to post a question on the forum about settings for metals and thicknesses.

The Manual from the everlast web site is pretty good and welding tips and tricks is a great resource i bet Jody has sold more everlast welders with out relay knowing it. As for the Manual that came in the box best comedy read i have had in a long time. At one point thay ask and i quote IV DESCRIPTION OF THE ERECTION Then underlined under this it states the operator should read the operation manual. this is a bit personal i think and i have very little trouble operating it thank you very much

I just got my PowerTIG200DX yesterday, and have the same issue.

It must be the quality of the pots, as the torch switch allows normal operation.

What kind of Pots are they again? 47 OHM or something?

47K. Did you open the pedal, sometimes in shipping, the cog will skip a couple teeth and sometimes the pedal is zip tied close for space and this will ramp the power up if it skips.

You should have 1-2 (switch). 3-4 and 4-5 are the pot. Should be low ohms to 50K on one set and opposites on the other. Check that before changing the pot out.
