    Default looking for instruction

I am located in Mint Hill NC and would like to find an experienced weldor in the Greater Charlotte area that would be willing to come to my shop and give me some basic lessons on my machines both Mig and Tig, especially tig. I expect to compensate for your time and that can be discussed when we talk.
The best way to reach me is email at rmccrodden@gmail.com
    Thanks

    Ray,
Though I am not close to Charlotte, maybe we can figure someway to meet. I am in S. GA...but should be heading to N. GA during Christmas time. Going to FL anytime soon...you'll pass right by.

An in-person Everlast user group meeting would be fun. Ram48, a similar post on craigslist in your area might get some more immediate results.

If you have the time, check out a local community college. Most have some night courses geared more toward adults that you could take. Cost is usually reasonable, if you are a resident.

Here's one that has welding courses: http://www3.cpcc.edu/programsofstudy/

Sport the cost is not that bad but They go deeper then I want or need to. The motorsports may be ok and I will look into it a bit further.
Id really just have some 1 on1 with a good welder on my machines. I saw a phone number for a fellow that welds out of his garage I may pass by and talk with him some.

I think they are letting Jody do the work on that front. He's got that whole series on the 250EX. http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/...-settings.html

Penncrest Buzzbox - Infinite amp control! Man the 70's were good.
Everlast Powerplasma 60 - Reliable unit, cuts well.
Everlast i-MIG 250P w/spoolgun - Really smooth, plenty of cajones.
Everlast 250EXT - Sometimes it just takes a kick in the balls...
Everlast 255EXT - Just started playing

I thought we were doing our own thing.

No, Jody does his own thing.
    We are doing ours.

We will be adding more. We have more irons in the fire than videos, but its becoming priority.
But the music stays...according to the demographics from youtube, people must think that is the high point. (just kidding...but it is interesting). Perhaps a little classical or country? People expect more than a cold opening with these. I have had just the opposite suggestions as well about the music...saying you need to amp it up.

Any music is fine just not quite so loud (I've got thumpin suround sound). The lead in on the CK videos is nice.

I didn't mean to imply there was any affiliation even though it sorta sounded that way. Just noting that he has already done a lot in the way of instructional video for the 250EX.

Any chance he will be getting an EXT?

How does that work for royalties- I'm guessing a commercial concern can't just get an mp3 file off the internet and tack in onto a video. Wedding videographers (background music on the video) and shopping malls (piped-in music to open our wallets) have to pay to play. Does classical music, composer long dead with unclear family ties, get around that little speed bump?

Well I use Corel Video Studio ProX3 (hoping to upgrade to 4 soon). You can buy it with a neat bundle of royalty free music already attached. Its a good video editor, though a little quirky. Its definitely not for a beginner...though I am just above the beginner level. It has a lot more things I can do with it that I haven't tapped into. The music has a feature that is called "smart" or something like that that automatically trims your music and recomposes it down to the microsecond that you tell it to. Out of each song you can get at least a half dozen remixed versions as well that end up being almost completely different. Of course, they offer you more music to buy into, but the base package is pretty good, even with some classical, african and big band themes....its just that they don't go with welding.

Maybe you could rig up a tig welder or two to play a high freq intro similar to this tesla coil... it would be unique.
The sound is made only by the arc.

Maybe we could hack the microprocessor on the EXT to do that. I wonder which one it has?
