    Default EXT250 HF gap settings

OK, I got my ssc pedal today, hooked it up and when the pedal switch makes, the welder starts jumping in and out of hf. I am set in 2t, but the starting amp setting still makes a differance in the frequency of the pulsing in and out of hf. The pedal will only drop the amperage about 50% which is not enough ( 150 amp panel setting = 75 with the pedal at its lowest ).

    So here's what I need

1- Specs for setting the gap, I still cannot keep it from jumping in and out of hf with the pedal or the trigger at low amperages.

2- More detailed info on how the starting amp setting effects the pedal control. I was under the impression that starting amp settings were bypassed with the 2t setting, but this is not the case.

3- info on how to make the pedal drop to a reasonable amperage.

Start amps should be all the way down. End amps as well.
Do not know why you should have a problem with the pedal. Is it working with the 225LX pedal?
    Specs are .045".
How low of amps is the HF wavering? Please be specific.

Is gap setting a routine maintenance item?

Yes, in any HF start welder.
