Thumbs up Power Plasma 50 first impressions

]I got my power plasma 50 last week and thought I would give my first impression of it.
It arrived well packaged I unpacked it and went to install the water filter and found a minor glitch. I couldn't install it with the supplied hardware. I went to the Hardware store and bought 2 spacers which allowed the installation of the Bracket. See attached pictures Click image for larger version.

Now that I got the filter installed Time To play. I set the input pressure on my air supply to 85psi connected the air hose and plugged the plasma cutter in.Set air pressure to 70psi and amperage to 30amps on plasma cutter. Connected ground clamp to some 1/8 steel stock and proceeded to cut through it like butter. I made numerous cuts piercing and edge cuts. I'm loving this plasma cutter. after about 15 minutes of cutting metal I turned the power off and heard an air leak inside the plasma cutter. I removed the cover and found oneof the air hoses was not pushed all the way into it's connector. The hose is clear polypropolene material and runs next to the transformer I don't know if the heat softened it or it just wasn't connected all the way from the factory. I have now installed a nylon hose on the quick connectors (it has a much higher operating temperature and pressure and only cost $5 I had to buy 10 feet). I put the cover back on the plasma cutter no leaks anymore. I'm loving my plasma cutter again. For the price I don't mind doing a couple of minor things to end up with a even better plasma cutter. At this point I would have no problem recommending this plasma cutter. I still have thicker metal to cut and see how it performs with it. The only recommendations I would make is supply 2 plastic spacers for the filter bracket, 2 shorter screws to mount the filter to it's bracket and change the internal air supply hose to nylon just to be safe.

The mounting bracket has been a problem for quite a while. I made one from a small piece of aluminum angle that worked well.

The air lines also have been an issue. My solution was to use the nylon brake lines and replace the push-in fittings with compression fitting throughout the machine. No air leaks now and much less of a possibility of future leaks.

Next time you have the machine apart you may want to check the gap on the HF points. Not sure what the setting should be for your machine.

Photo of bracket before the air fittings were changed to compression.

Same here on the older model SC50. I Spaced our's with a 1/4"-20 nut and two washers. Thanks for the review, as I am going to getting one soon.
I Love Plasma and rolleye's at the costly addiction of MAPPgasoron's.
