    Default Newb from Minnesota aye!

Hello, I'm new here, first post. I just ordered a Powertig 200DX. Should be here in a week. I'll pick up an argon tank tomorrow. I have not tig welded for 30 years, I went to a Votech for welding but never finished. I was just getting into tig when I dropped out for stupid punk kid reasons. and back the then they were huge heliarc machines. Im looking forward to my new machine and start fusing again.

It'ed be fun but I have no idea what to build, I don't do facebook or twitter and 100 posts is a lot for me, Iv'e been on other Auto related forums for years and my post count is low. Maybe after I get my feet wet and the next contest comes up.

Facebook ,twitter and building aren't necessary. Just make an entry, add a sig and have 100 more posts by march 12 to qualify. I won the last contest and all other qualifying entries got a 40% off coupon to be used at any time on a single purchase.
It don't get much easier than that... ya got nothin to lose so get in there and mix it up.

What did you build to win the contest? Do these posts count toward my 100?

Projects count as extra chances to win, but aren't required to win. I only had a total of (4 projects) 6 entries out of 7 possible. I entered a trailer, a roller base for my cabinet saw, top half of a pipe canoe rack and a new stand for my band saw. They can be found in the project section. You have to make your entry post in the contest first for your posts to count toward it. Once you get the new machine you'll make lots of posts.

Aint that the truth, I could only dream about owning my own. It wasn't till about 6 months ago when I learned about the Inverter Technology even then I was interested in the blue Diversions but they were still out of my budget. I was watching youtube vids when a lot of them had the Everlast units being demoed, then when Jody compared the Blue to Green and said they work equally as well, I decided on Green , It just so happens to be my favorite color.

Welcome to the forum! I love my 200dx! It took me longer to figure out all those settings than welding! After watching the videos on welding tips and tricks.com I finally watched them again and took notes, and figured out I had one knob turned the wrong way! After that it was all good!

Did you take the tig welder or get another welder?

Its here! Its here! looks awesome, bigger than I thought, I unpacked everything, installed the plug, fiddled around with it to see how things go together. flipped the on switch to see if it fired up, which it did. There are no tungsten's with it and I haven't had time to get any yet so still no fusion yet. It came with a smaw stinger that is strange to me, I'm used to the squeeze the clamp style. Does anybody know how they work? also there is no manual with it at all, is there a manual I can download on this site?

It's a screw type... unscrew the handle a little, insert the welding rod, tighten the handle and weld.
