What's new in 2012 for everlast

Everlast has had a very busy 2011 in Sales Growth and Product Development for 2012 we have a number of New models being introduced along with some substantial improvements to our existing product line.
We have been very busy working towards not only having our QC controls in place for all facets of production but Duncan has also been negotiating with the Factory Owner in regards to having our Models protected and to put in place a agreement to not allow any Potential Customers access to our line . This has now allowed us to further develop and improve our units , in Fact the December visit was all R&D with improvements made to our smallest PowerArc 140ST ( improved protection in 110v correct LED reading in 110v ) The PowerTig 185 AC/DC has been improved with both the 110v protection with larger relays along with improved top boards
Our Multi-Function Pro Series line of Welders have improved Plasma functions ,larger IGBT Modules and added protection to make a more stable reliable welder , All Plasma Cutters from 60 amp now have larger modules to increase reliability. Our 250 EX has had improvements made in low amp start and control modules.
So as you can see our December Visit was extremely busy but vey productive.
Duncan gets January off before heading back to continue with our R&D and developing / improving for 2012

I am glad to hear the company is protecting itself and customers from cheap knockoffs being built from what you and your staff have worked so hard to build. Stay strong and keep kicking blue,red and yellow butts with great affordable products. Saving my pennies for 250 Ext later this year if things improve for me, I know alot of you guys feel the same pain. Thanks Oleg for all you and your staff do.

I think you misunderstood the "protection" that Oleg refers to. What he's talking about is an agreement with the particular factory producing that unit (or line) for Everlast, not being able to produce the same unit, paint it a different color, and sell it to others to market under another name. Take into consideration that China has 4 times the population of the US. Typically, a factory like the one that Everlast is using, would have free reign to sell their machines to anyone willing to make a minimum buy. The business and trademark laws in China are nothing like the US or Canada, which left Everlast vulnerable to a competitor coming in and having the factory take say, the EXT (I don't know for sure which models are covered at this point). With the lax trademark/patent laws in China, It would have been easy for another company (even one of the big 4) to have the factory change the faceplate, paint it let's say yellow, and offer the SAME unit in the US for 3 times the price. And in doing so, profit from all the development costs that Everlast has poured into it. If you look at the lower end (no-name) import brands out there right now, you will notice the same, exact welder being offered by perhaps a half dozen different companies. The only difference being how long the company has been around, and the fact that they are usually out to move a container-load of product, pocket the money, and move on. Good luck to the buyer of one of these machines when a board blows 6 months form now and the seller has vanished, complete with the 2-1/2 years left of the warranty. This is a good thing for Everlast, as it should reassure us all that they are committed to the long haul.

I was curious how that all worked with China manufacturing the welders. I can't remember but on the news they were interviewing a security person who claimed that China would still or hack into a company's network to get information on products. I hope you can get that done. Do you think there will ever be time when Everlast produces their machines in the United States or Canada?
